Was browsing /g/ and came by some interesting pics, looks like somebody broke NDA. Seems to lend credence to the leaked slides, here's a Cinebench slide that was posted without the donanimhaber watermark and the embargo date at the bottom cropped out. Also some pics of the reviewer bundle, Bulldozer CPU (8150 presumably), ASUS Crosshair V Formula mobo, and Scorpius belt buckle (?). Enjoy. Seems official release is very soon, only 8 more days guys. :)

Nice find. Is that a belt buckle? WTH

Sexy kit! That's the board I want too.

Man, I really hope BD delivers. I love that board's layout and the price is $100 cheaper than the damn Asus Maximus IV Z68 board (with the same features... go figure).

My C2D 775 mobo died, so been waiting to upgrade to this or SandyBridge-E... no way I'm buying an old LGA1155 platform this late in the game. :/

This indicates that the top SKU has gone up in price? Perhaps the performance will be closer to the 2600 than previously thought.

Price news look like some good news, they validate with the passmark results. That belt buckle clearly showcases that AMDs new chips are for real men and lonesome cowboys, i would pair it with free Amazon MP3s of Waylons hits such as..."Good Ol Boys", "Dreaming My Dreams", "Stop the world and let me off" and others.

what is the difference between box and tray? and why $60 difference? thanks

I think they might have the prices backwards on their site. A box has packaging and a fan. The tray is just the chip ie made for oem. The box version should be more expensive.

At one point there was talk of these being released with water cooling - might explain the $60??

Just conjecture as $60 seems a bit steep for an air cooler, unless it is a killer air cooler.

Doesn't look like that box is big enough for a water block, fan, and radiator though.

AMD is *not* packaging the FX chips with a water cooler. Confirmed by AMD.

I saw that backwards anyway - they have the tray listed for more than the box, like you said if I would have actually read.

one says "4C" and the other says "X4". maybe the 4C isnt unlocked, but still, 60$ for unlocking+cooler is alot assuming the cheaper one is the tray part.

Anything new about Bulldozer being physically compatible with the AM3 socket? I remember Asus, Asrock, and some other mobo manufacturer claiming that the Bulldozer will work on their AM3 boards with a BIOS update or something.

Third time I have answered this. Yes, with a BIOS update. Asus has already released the update for their Crosshair IV boards.

hey guys...foud this:

I'm sitting in on a press briefing for AMD Bulldozer right now, and while everything is embargoed, I will say this: If you're building a gaming PC, this is going to be the way to go.
from: https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/l2g82/im_just_gonna_say_it/

i also read that charlie from S\A said that bulldozer have something special for gamming

and than we have those amd comics...with FX team and Ruby
and that strange empy space on the die photo

i might beeing paranoid Oo

Probably optimized Catalysts with some multithreading thrown in, we will find out with 11.10s.

So it's not because of the CPU, the added performance, but becuse their catalyst team finally made a multithreaded driver...nice spin AMD.

Ok, so if the FX 4100 costs the same as the phenomIIx4 955, but is clocked 400mhz higher ... doesn't that kind of mean that it has weaker IPC? Which would then mean that the bulldozer architecture has weaker IPC than K10 ..........?

No, seriously, what's with the prices? If AMD is trying to pull of another Radeon 4xxx series with Bulldozer, then prices wouldn't be a good indicator of performance at this point, but can they really afford to sell bulldozers at dirt cheap prices after such a long and (probably) expensive R&D process?

I would take the FX 4100 anyday to the Ph2 955, a lot more fun chip.

Whats your problem buddy? As i remember, you didnt have one on Nvidias Multithreaded DX11 drivers and Intels 980x's on Civ V didnt you? Well...lets see your reaction to BF3 coming, dont worry i'm immune.

I expect DX11 will shine on AMD hardware. IntEl, well, not so much.
And DX10.1 and lower to be quite competitive.
