You probably don't have to... but I think rebooting makes it go out and pull any new updates available for the modem. I think Comcast can actually send the update out and reboot the modem automatically as I have witnessed the modem reboot itself a few times.

Per the Vonage forums, rebooting the ATA should pull any new updates to the VoIP modem as well.
 
What programs are you using to test the download speeds with. I live in Piyysburgh and we are on the list for the speed upgrade🙂

I run a free web test of speed and I am only at 2.3 down with cable in Pittsburgh. but I ran about 7 different speed testers from a google search and the speed varies from 1.2 to 3.4


To reset the modem you just unplug for a bit ane replug in correct.
 
768K upload will be nice...still nowhere near where it should be though for those of us who regularly upload big files 🙁
 
got my upgrade today... they started out upgrade (montgomery county, pa) at midnight last night...as i work for Comcast and had some inside info
