Swiftboating still occurs and is wrong on either side. I guess the right has forgot about the part of the saying about those not knowing history are doomed to repeat it.

Being complicit to the epitome of slime that was The Swiftboat fiasco certainly doesn't put TBP in a great light, but Franken it seems was an @ss from the get go.
I think what's partisan is trying to tell others what is relevant according to your own arbitrary political time scale.
It doesn't help that events that fall into this category of dismissal are most often events involving failure, embarrassment, or fraud for the party of the one doing the dismissing.
I say Hurray for keeping issues like this present in the public consciousness, maybe if it isn't forgotten than it will be less likely to be repeated. Still, you should at least stand up when someone introduces themselves to you.

Good, I hope he was an ass. Why should he have to kiss TBP's ass? Isn't that part of the problem these days? TBP was up on the 'Hill trying to lobby the Dems for support of his power/water scam, I'm glad Franken told him to fly a kite.
It's about time Congress grows a pair and stops polishing rich people's knobs.
TBP is moving on to whatever will make him the next billion dollars. He is still scum and I'm glad Franken held him to his past. Franken is more intelligent and educated than he is given credit for, that is what scares certain people.

We have too many idiots in the world. The word 'partisan' is ambiguous to begin with, but in the pejorative sense you use it, you should prove some wrongdoing by Franken here.
You can't and you don't.
You simply try to steal an arguemnt you don't have by using a name-calling word.
You calling Franken a partisan not only proves nothing about whether he is lacking the substance to back it up that you lack - it's ironic, because you are the 'partisan'.
While it's obvious, I'll lay out the point I just made that you can't.
Because you take a *legitimate* issue - the abuse of his wealth Pickens did by payijng for a massive campaign of lies against the Democratic candidate - and instead of dealing with it in any honest manner, you lie yourself by implying it's not legitimate, and you name-call without any substance - that's the behavior of the 'partisan' you use in your attack.
The only other thing in your short post in pointing out that Franken is attacking him for behavior in the past. Do you prefer Franken attack him for his future behavior?
Franken being in the senate is a very clear example of how far our nation has sunk. If that's the best we can do in terms of leadership, we've hit an all time low.

In the 1950's, the Kefauver Committee had leading figures suspected in organized crime testify, interrogated by chief counsel Robert Kennedy.
Kennedy would have powerful men such as Sam Giancana, one of the nation's leading mob figures, sitting there while he berated him with the accusatory questions - and Kennedy told Giancana he 'giggled like a little girl' at one point. This was representing his outrage for Giancana's outrageous behavior.
Sometimes, that's officials' role, not to have every person who has behaved heinously treated with honor.
The Republicans may have given the disrespect of 'citizens' a bad name with their perverse misuse of it - Reagan calling the Contra terrorists 'the moral equivalent of our founding fathers' or Tom DeLay calling the owners of the slave labor shops in the Maranas Islands the 'models in the world' as good owners, while their same party runs around accusing Kerry of lying about his shrapnel wounds by wearing little purple bandages or falsely accusing Al Gore of lying about his role in the internet among dozens or lies, or their vice-presidental nominee saying the Democratic nominee 'likes to pal around with terrorists', but in responsible hands, the outrage expressed by officials is a good thing IMO.
You create this bizarre melodrama that any accountability for Pickens' despicable behavior with some words telling the truth is somehow leading to civil war.
Since when are any one of the People's representatives supposed to suck the dick of lobbyists or "citizens" trying to bilk CITIZENS of hundreds of billions, not to mention holding their lives hostage for profit.
If you're definition of a citizen is T-Boone, then obviously we have different views of the country's need.

The problem is, TBP isn't a person who is interested in "live and let live". He's interested in "I profit while taxpayers pay, then I'll hold their lives hostage for water so I can profit more". He isn't a citizen, he's a blood sucking vampire willing to do anything to make a buck.
He did it with oil originally. He tried doing it with oil last year (OIL WILL NEVER GO BELOW 100, I KEEP SAYING THAT WHILE I TRY TO PUMP AND DUMP TO FUCK AMERICANS). He then tried to double down and get the taxpayers to pay 100bn for transmission lines so he could fuck us on power and fuck us again on water.
A guy who takes a ranch, makes it a town, uses 2 guys to vote in a utility, so he can control TX water is a fucking scumbag and deserves ALL disrespect possible.
TBP isn't a citizen, he's a one-man special interest trying to subjugate citizens.

My original post answered you already, but again, that's fine as a presumptive approach, but when a citizen behaves heinously, they lose the presumption of respect.
When Congress hauls in people who have done terrible things, it's perfectly appropriate for them to express the outrage about it on behalf of the people.
