Well guys looks like I am going to retire from the racing scene. Life is really busy right now and I have a nice racing set up sitting here just gathering dust (and laundry -- thanks honey!!) as I just cannot find the time to invest into playing anymore. I'll most likely just sell off the gear and put it into the pool we just put in the backyard.

It's been a good ride and I have enjoyed meeting and hanging out with all of you. If I can learn to play with the controller I may pop in now and again but probably not too much.

I wish all of you the best and perhaps by the time Forza 4 or 5 or whatever rolls around I will be interested in getting back into it. It's been a great couple of years.

Thanks!!

Greg

Whatcha selling? :D :p

I understand dude. I sold off my PC gaming rig years back for the same reason. Heck, the only reason I got into the 360 was I won it in a contest! :p Have a good one man

Compared to other high cylinder count pasta rockets, yes its torque is comparable. Compared to other motors of similar output that are turbo'd or larger displacement, the torque is lacking. Particularly down low, which is where you end up in the revs when taking a slower turn.

Plus 1st gear only hits like 60, whereas 2nd gets to 100 or so. I only ran it on Sebring, but seemed to have several turns where going into 1st was questionable, but 2nd left you in the weaker part of the torque curve.

Well yeah, turbos or larger displacement give you alot more wiggle room.

But lets return to the original statement:

"relatively lack of torque"

If you'd said "low torque compared to horsepower" then I might give you a slight nod (but it'd be slight), or if you'd said "lack of torque down low" I'd agree wholeheartedly, but overall it's right on targets with engines of similar side/layout.

You suck, I was literally going to PM you in a few mins asking if you'd race this week, but I suppose that's futile now...guess I'll take my fury about you quitting out on you in MW2 :p

We'll miss you blowfish, you've been around forever! Don't be a stranger!

Yeah I know. I feel kinda bad about it myself but I just cannot make the time to pick a car, tune it, practice with it and come out and race. And its no fun not being competitive anymore. Forza 2 days it took me a while to get good and be challenging near the top but it took time and practice -- something I cannot seem to do these days.

ecetim -- I have a full racing set up - Fanatec Clubsport edition wheel, playseat evolution, buttkicker gamer, Pioneer xbox 360 surround sound system, 42" LCD and all this on a wood platform I made and stand (not the best but they work for this purpose).

It's pretty darn nice and has been a blast to race with for the all this time.

My original setup is posted in this forum somewhere. Of course it is totally different now but you get the idea

Here are the pics http://usergallery.myhomegameroom.com/gallery/album276

The set up is way better now as the TV is on a raised stand of plywood and 2x4s (strong and sturdy). The chair is on a raised platform to get it off the floor and it is open underneath to have the 360, amp, etc all out of the way and hidden. Surround speakers are all mounted on poles right behind your head now so it sounds way better. I even went all silly Fast & Furious on it and put 2 black lights under the racing seat platform. It looks silly but cool at the same time. I never got around to painting it though so it is still bare wood. I wanted to but just never bothered with it.

Also that link has my favorite car I drove (along with the super paint job my wife did when she was first getting started with the painting side of things) Domino's Pizza!! The best she ever did was my Frankenstein car. She really pulled that one off well. Not sure I have a pic of that anymore but the face/head of Frank on the hood of car was just super.

Your wife was an awesome car painter!! My favorite was her Star Wars car she did. The barracuda car was also great!

I'll be there as long as the GF doesn't have anything for us to do tonight. I'm down for some stock Z06 racing or maybe F430s

Glad I was able to join, that was some good racing. I like racing all the same cars, adds a nice edge to it! And let's not forget the bumper cars race at the end...

Yeah, that last race was crazy. Someday I'm going to go for the 100,000 drift points achievement on there...

It's been a fun few years racing with you. Have a good one and hope to see you if not in FM3 possibly in another game down the road.
