Nice to know that it can be downgraded to lower classes. If that is a freebie R1 it will be awhile before I get it as I'm still getting S class cars.

Is that the one you get for leveling up or a different one? IIRC the last car I received was Mine's R34, but I remember there being an S class dodge level reward.

http://www.xbox360forum.com/forum/forza-3/104421-forza-3-reward-cars.html

The Mine's R34 is the reward for reaching level 26. The Viper is given to you when you reach level 29.

You can do very well with just the cars the game gives you, but you will still have to buy some to complete all the races.

Oh and it appears the first free R1 car isn't until level 45. The Mazda that can be downgraded is at level 46.

EDIT: I guess I'll make the thread.

I'm stealing from Blowfish's tread from last time though

I used the Dodge Viper ACR with the AWD swap and Dodge Stock Car Engine swap, and a few other minor upgrades to get it to R3-800. Blows everything else away.

Something just clicked with me here. So regular cars can be upgraded into the R classes now?

Not only that, but you can upgrade R-class cars now too and they have specific ratings rather than just their class. Their upgrades are limited (usually you're only allowed to swap out the wheels, maybe give them a lighter driveline, and remove restrictor plates), but they can push an R3-730 up to R3-780, sometimes higher.

yeah, the datsun 510 is quite a popular car to be upgrades to R classes.

Ok, that's good to know. I may try upgrading Mine's R34 & see how it works out.

Saw famous and Loth in a pub game last night. Testing out enduro cars or just havin' fun?

Both. I think I have my enduro car, was multiple seconds faster than the rest of the field, save for Famous. Why didn't you join us?

I almost did but I didn't want to be humiliated by you guys so early :p

Actually I was in a MW2 mood...plus I borrowed Halo ODST and played one level of it. Man that game is bad...

Well fellas I am out of commission for racing again. Had a Super Bowl party and some unruly kids broke my damn wheel. I have emailed Fanatec about it so I am in a wait and see mode now.

Crappy part is no one told me about it. I found out last night when I hooked up the 360 in there to get ready for this week.

I'll be back as soon as I can get the parts I need from them.

i am starting to think of the idea of a modded 360 wheel with a relocated clutch button =/

Hopefully their customer service is up to par but I wouldn't count on it.

Yeah I never got a good feeling about that company.

On another note, my MS wheel is starting to show its age. It keeps resetting sometimes during a race and I lose control. I might have to get another one :(. At least they are very inexpensive compared to the fanatec.

I've never liked Fanatec, they've always seemed shady to me. The fact that they started shipping INCOMPLETE products (with the first 911 Turbo S wheels) is just a huge turn off.

Yeah but once you have been through 3 of them it adds up ... I was on my 4th (thanks to Waldo) before I said screw it and got the the Fanatec. 4th wheel is doing ok as I gave it to my nephew as he got a 360 for X-mas.

Mine's more than 2 years old.

I didn't know you used a wheel?

Anyway, mine still works just fine, it's just resetting itself and bringing the guide up in the middle of races. I have to hurry and turn off the guide and get back to the race before I crash.

I used to use a wheel, I drive better with a controller. Still got the wheel though. If it wasn't in my lap I'd probably use it.

Nah, I wouldn't buy one...not at the horribly inflated price they're offering it.
