Got the car famous and raced two races with it. Doesn't turn in quite as quickly as I'd like but overall it's pretty solid (and thank you for keeping it RWD, AWD BMW's and Porsches and such = heracy!)

Has anyone tried the tune that that Blow had on his that I posted for FM2 in FM3 to see if it's as good?

Negative, although you can probably find a great tune on the storefront. I've got a 355 challenge with every single part you can buy so I figure it shouldn't be hard/expensive to find a good tune.

You guys are rad. I love that you're still playing this game as much as you are, and still having fun with it too.

I have a small favor to ask for the ones here who love F3. I do have the game but I cannot build up the energy to play it. See, the thing is, for me, I love the more arcade type racers. I recetnyl played and LOVED NFS: Shift. Dirt 2 is pretty good as well, but I'm not opposed to the more sim type of racers either.

So, what is it about F3 that you guys personally like?

For me it's twofold.

First and most importantly, the group of guys makes it awesome. No one is overly serious, it's just a blast to get together, someone gets to pick a car, we all build paint 'em and race.

Second for the game itself, it plays to all spectrum of skill. Waldo is great at tuning cars, I suck at it. But I can go to the storefront and buy a tuning setup, throw it on and go race. Yet the game itself is still technical enough that you can't just gas and go like you can in alot of the arcade games.

Overall it really is just the total package. I tried Shift and I didn't like it whatsoever, between choppy frame rates, "slow" feeling cars, etc.

You oughta give FM3 a whirl, I can send you a car and you can join in tonight. Just keep your assists on (automatic transmission, traction control, and ABS should do the trick), leave the braking line on, and join in on the fun!

I Might be able to make it, although it would be an hour late. Was wondering if anyone had an extra car I could borrow if I can make it?

I actually like both kind of games. I liked both of the NFS Undergrounds & NFS Carbon wasn't too bad either. I really didn't care much for NFS Most wanted, got about 1/2 way through & quit. Got tired of it being a requirement to get the cops after you just to progress in it.

I haven't played FM3 that much yet. In FM2 there were quite a few assists that allowed you to adjust the game. From the little I have played FM3 there are even more assists that you can adjust to tailor it to your play style.

It's also because of the group here. I'd already cleared FM2 months before I found the group here. Decided to give it a chance and ended up playing FM2 all the way up until FM3 came out.

I'm planning on being there tonight - my pick, I sure hope so, heh - but I'll be driving without the sound I'm used to and depend on. My receiver has apparently decided not to work properly in a variety of ways, one of which is the HDMI inputs not functioning correctly and not giving me any audio or video. Before I had an HDMI-capable 360, I was using VGA and optical for audio. I can go back to the VGA or component cables assuming I can find them but without the Dolby Digital audio, I'm going to be like a lost puppy. I assume I'm correct in saying that the only way I'm going to get the 5.1 surround is either HDMI or optical and that the red/white cables that come with the 360 won't cut the mustard. I've only got one optical cable and it's in use by the cable box.

I've got another guy at work that's interested in joining in so he might try to join up tonight.

Just switch your optical over from your cable box to your 360 for tonight. I've had to do that a few times myself. :) The red/white will get you left/right only but its better than nothing.

I am going to try my best to be there tonight. Last week some things came up that didn't allow me to hop on and race.

Prepare for battle!

Oh, and Georgia Tech > Clemson

I was hoping to avoid doing that. I'm going to be looking into the warranty service/replacement for it this weekend. It's supposed to be 2 years so hopefully I'll get it replaced and be good to go. I need to find either the component or VGA cable for tonight and I'll be honest, I don't have a clue what I might have done with either of them, oops.

btw, I hate you :p

I very rarely play Forza 3 solo. Wednesday nights and soon, Enduro Nights, are the only times I really play it. We have a solid group of guys here who shoot the shit and enjoy racing. We've had some rough patches where some newcomers have tried to ruin it or attendance has been very low but the Wed Night Forza Nights have persevered.

I remember the first few months of trying to get this shindig off the ground, I would spend all weekend tuning cars, earning the money, and buying the cars for the group. All worth it looking back, I have found new friends that I would have never met.

Someone needs to pester blowfish, he'd better be there tonight.

I'll try but it doesn't look good. I am still at the office and work piled up around my ears at the moment.

No car either as that damn COD game has been eating up my time when I have been at home ... that and playing MUA2 with my 2 kids (which has been a lot of fun - not as good as the first game but still good).

Clemson > Ga Tech (I almost went to Clemson).
Why didn't you ever say that before now? I had no idea you almost went to Clemson.

I did find my VGA cable so hopefully I'll be able to get that hooked up and get the optical cable from the cable box switched over so I can hear what's going on. Hopefully my new recruit from work joins in, too.

Clemson was #2 for my college choice. Ended up going to Tennessee, probably should have gone to Clemson. Lasted 1 year at UT and transferred to Samford.

blowfish, we can get you a car if you need a ride.

I do.

Send me an AWD something that is decent to drive if you can.

I won't make it at 9 but I'll try to get my a$$ out of the office by then so I won't be too late.

What?? How dare you speak such things. The AWD 997T in FM2 was one of my favorite porsches that I drove.

I will adimt that I always had a bit of a problem with anything that didn't have the engine in the front though.

I'll try to find a decent build on the storefront and gift it to you. We'll see.

Thanks everyone for letting me join in for the first time, hope I wasn't too much trouble. I would still consider myself a beginner at Forza (I think I was the only person driving an M3 without a spoiler), but regardless I tried my best to drive cleanly and I had a lot of fun too. Soccer was a blast, lol.
