Acoustics @ Home has WUs for the first time this year

I got a bunch in case they run out, which I'll finish after the Sprint.

Excellent news! Downloading now, then suspending until later, same as you. If we do well, and at least 2M points get returned, we may well have a shot at getting some more Marathon points!

Oh, and Xansons is now giving out a few tasks.

I'm having 2nd thoughts about Acoustics myself. Seems unlikely though, that their military would need outside help on a military project, with as many computers they have hacking the world.

What they do seems basic research to me, with a lot of different applications when eventually incorporated into applied research, civil and military. As long as they publish, western military could potentially use this research as well.

The paper which they link to in their April 15 news at http://www.acousticsathome.ru/boinc/ mentions some tests with a GPU implementation of their algorithm in 2017, targeted to consumer GPUs with weak FP64 support. I haven't looked whether there were any posts about plans of turning this into a DC application. (Their application from April 14 is still CPU-only.)

I thought this deserved bumping to let you know, we have SZTAKI points! 12 of them, in the Marathon.

CNT got +4 points out of the SZTAKI marathon too, but lost a few more elsewhere.
Some time yesterday or maybe the day before:

CNT = 311 points
TeAm = 257 points​

Now:

CNT = 304 points
TeAm = 271 points​

Last time when I paid sufficient attention, the team right behind us in the Formula Boinc overall standings was Overclock.net. But since recently it's UK BOINC Team, then Planet 3DNow!, then Overclock.net.

The Climate Prediction marathon automatically dropped out of the listings because of -4,365 M season credits...

Before it dropped out, we were on rank 14 there.
