edit: i would buy this car for 150k only if it had a warranty that was at least 5 years. 3 yrs / 36,000 miles ? Is this a joke? Bleh.

Porsche is slightly better in warranty than the Ford; offering 4 years / 50k miles, but again, maintenance on Porsches can vary wildly. A good Porsche shop can keep your car in tip-top shape quite affordably. The dealer or a not so cost-conscious shop will eat you alive. I have trouble believing that anything with a Ford nameplate is going to be as expensive to maintain as either of the other two legitimate players in the $130-150k arena."

1) What the hell does the badge on the front have anything to do with the engineering of a vehicle which ultimately decides a vehicle's cost?
2) This Ford GT looks nearly identical to the original - the main differences being the size.
3) Ferrari currently offers a two year, unlimited mile warranty on the 360 Modena. Meanwhile, most Ferrari models are notorious for reliability issues. Lambasting Ford for problems with their quality is akin to saying "Kia sucks, I'm buying a Hyundai instead!"

Sure, it may just be a Ford, but I would bank on Ford having better reliability then Lambo and Ferrari. Remember the entire Jaguar fiasco? Jags sucked massive monkey pole until Ford took over production. Also, when you talk about relieability and service on everyday grocery-getters, that is an entirely different then when talking about 'super' cars such as this vehicle.

Yes, I agree and tend not to think (ala-consumer reports style) about reliability first when looking at supercars. To me, the performance matters more than the manufacturer.

First of all this a sweet ride no matter who makes it. As for people ripping on Ford, I have never owned a Ford and probably never will, but you have to understand that Ford is actually a capable company. They can make extemely well crafted, reliable cars and they often do. The problem is that they usually don't make those cars for the US market where they have to compete with the like of GM, Kia, Hyundai etc. on price and volume, so don't discount Ford because of what you see on the road. Given the complexities and manufacturing and selling a domestic car in the US (unions, massive competition, need to clear out their over production) they do a pretty good job.

As for the GT - this is a damn nice car, they made sure to engineer this car to the limit and it will show.

If you can afford a $150K car you arent worried about the warranty. I heard that they got a preproduction car to run an 11.59 in the quarter and that isnt even what the car is designed for.
