You know, 75 posts later and I still can't tell if Xiety is really this stupid or just trolling. Or maybe a stupid troll?

lol what a funny thread.

1) I agree with Xiety first off that all the arguments in this thread are based off what others have to say and so one's personal opinion doesn't really matter
2) I also agree that Xiety is an idiot for making statements like "it's still a Ford" and the whole thing with the souped up vette.

I wouldn't want a Ford GT because it happens to be in the price range of my favorite car (gt2), but there's no denying that it's a nice supercar

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!

Are you implying that the Ford will break down faster than a Ferrari or Lambo?? Do you have any idea on the absymial mechanical reliability of the Ferrari or Lambo?

If you think Ford is bad (ironically Ford GT might be the most RELIABLE supercar next to the NSX), wait till you learn about the Ferrari. For the absurd price you pay for a Ferrari, your not getting a whole lot of quality or longlevity. The thing is though, people who buy Ferraris don't really care about its reliabilty. The only thing you get with Ferrari is looks, performance, and most importantly, prestige. Other common sense items like practicality, reliability, etc.. goes out the window on those cars.

Which is why I will never own a Ferrari. I'd love to drive one, but never own one. I refuse to buy a car that expensive with such shoddy reliability.

probably 155 or 160 on the M5. Not sure about the GT, though I am pretty sure I wouldn't wanna go over 100 mph in a Ford. Anything can break up, anytime..
So, do you get paid to act retarded or does it come naturally?
So, do you want to start discussing this in a more a human way? Or are you just gonna keep calling me retarded because you don't agree with me? Oh ok, go home son.

Son?

Go home old man.

The lambo things is pointless, they are owned by audi, expect nothing but faultless reliability. I like the gt - not as much as the original, but if I had a choice between it and the lamborghini give me the tractor anyday :D

The problem with the ford gt is that it is a rushed car, it was supposed to be ready for 2003 - but missed as ford has such big money problems.

you guys are idiots, 150,000 for that car...

don't tell me it's the performance that you like...

for 100k, you can get the Lingenfelter Corvette which has 3.2 sec 0-60 time and can run the 1/4 mile in 9.50 @ 145 mph, so if you punk ass vortex junkies want to go get a Ford, go get it. But let me keep my Corvette and I'll eat you and your ugly ford alive.

Performance isn't all about quarter mile times and 0-60 times.

rolleye.gif
what's all about?

give me 1 fvckin good reason to choose the GT over Lingenfelter Corvette....

you can't.

Having a car with tremendous power isn't all that good if you can't utilize it in all but a straight line. Sure, there are purpose-built cars for either handling aspects or sheer power aspects, but the GT40 is a good balance between the two. If you took the LF and GT40 to Laguna Seca, or even Sears Point, I would say that the GT40 would win hands down simply because it is a better balanced car than the LF. The GT40 (MR) can handle better than the LF (FR) and therefore utilization of the engines power becomes a lot easier. You don't see Top Fuel dragsters do anything but run in a straight line, eh? Am I saying that the LF is a straight line car? Not entirely, but that the GT40 and the LF are tuned differently. Sure, there is a price difference, but whats price when you are looking at a supercar?

Just dont go too quick in that gt40, recent calculations show 220-240mph would have seen a flying car!

Oh man, you knew the "But you can tart a corvette up for that much" group was bound to come in sooner or later. You can't even compare the two cars, the GT is a, built and DESIGNED from the ground up car to run neck and neck with a 360, you get a mid engined, ultra rigid chassis with 500 HP sitting behind you. You're getting a more aerodynamic body as well that's designed -from the ground up- to handle 200MPH with minimal drag. double wishbone suspension all around.... it's not a ripoff for the money IMO, it's an extremely capable vehicle meant to run rith Italy's best, and it can.

This thread is funny :p the way Xiety acts is funny. The way everyone else reacts to him is funny.

I want that GT. I want it bad. I am not a Ford guy by any means, but I want it anyway. The amount of engineering in that car is insane.

Not strictly true unfortunately; it had to have massive reinforcements to handle the extra power, the body was designed to be as retro as possible and as such they were banned from adding (by J Mays) anything that drastically changed the shape. Mind you the fuel tank placement in the transmission tunnel is an excellent idea and the weight of the car is impressively low.
