its not a man. no matter how much drugs and operations she has, it will always be a woman.

I have an idea:
You could apply for security guard in any of those bathrooms in NC. You could be the *ultimate* capacity in clearing confusion up should any ever arise.

So, if Taysha Jackson gets a huge shock because she just saw A MAN!!!11! in the stall beside her, you can quickly come to her aid and explain!

You say that because Sonikku shoved her in your face as a woman, and genetically it's true. But practically speaking, you wouldn't pull out her chair, or open the door for her. If looking around a room for a woman to approach for possible romance, you'd skip right over her. You wouldn't consider her an ugly woman, you'd consider her a man. And in every way that matters*, she has become a man. SHE has become HE. For him, there is no possible way to even enforce this stupid law.

* I specifically exclude G-d and genetics. The latter I can't see, and the former . . . Well, He's a big boy (or girl), He can take care of Himself, and if He has any views on the matter, He hasn't seen fit to share them with me. Assuming this newly minted man is happy with himself, I like to think G-d is happy for him. To believe otherwise is to say that G-d created him as a woman who feels herself to really be a man, but He wants her to stay just as He created her, even if that makes her miserable. That would make G-d a dick. Please don't call G-d a dick.

Um, that is true of the kid in high school gym class, but this is a purely optional trampling of those special snowflakes. And really, in the men's room wouldn't the transgendered man in the post above yours be less "in your face" than the fully modified penis-less transwoman in a dress and heels? Which one do you think you'd have to explain to your children? I wouldn't even notice that dude, regardless of whether he still has a penis, but the transwoman (assuming I'm using the terms correctly, I tend to mangle them) would be a bit awkward for me and probably humiliating for her.

Fine. Give them their own third bathroom, but keep em out of mine. Is that clearer?

I'll admit in my younger days, I've had two gay men try and physically force themselves on me. Being gay is one thing, but that doesn't mean there aren't gay predators out there. Both instances of my being attempted to be physically assaulted resulted in someone getting their ass kicked.

As I said, I have no problem with a third bathroom, which is commonly used as a family bathroom for parents who have children of both sexes with them. But it's not always practical, especially with older buildings. And honestly, at some point many (maybe most) transpeople are going to be superficially indistinguishable from the gender they are adopting. At that point, why create a problem where none exists? Even before that point, what's the harm in a woman who is transitioning to a man using the men's restroom? Just pretend it's a concert. They are no doubt more uncomfortable than you.

Part of being an adult is in not having the hangups we had as children and coping with things that are less than ideal. We all have things that make us uncomfortable; protecting us from them with the force of law is not a good idea. It's good to be uncomfortable once in a while, challenges our beliefs and gets us thinking rather than simply being.

You do strike me as the kind of guy who would turn down a blowjob.

We're gonna need tranny restrooms.

OR

Small individual restrooms with locks on the doors and no gender assignment. Which I'd actually prefer anyways.

I honestly dont know how thats gonna work with fancy restaurants that have a matron or whatever.

Keep this chick in the women's room where she belongs. :colbert:

The receding hairline.....I question if that's natural or if Nair was doing it's thing there....you know, just to enforce the notion that many men go bald but most women don't?

Kind'a funny when I think about it. Nair on top and Rogain on the cheek, jaw, upper lip and chin.

Also forcing a transgendered person to use their "birth bathroom" will cause confusion, embarrassment, and possibly violence as people looking like men will be using women's bathrooms, and people looking like women will be using the men's. Maybe that's the true goal of these laws.

Whereas allowing women into men's and men into women's restroom won't be confusing or embarrassing or dangerous in the slightest.

Maybe a third "unisex" bathroom would be a good idea, some people just don't care and are fine with whatever. When I see lines for the women's bathroom, I think to myself that a certain percentage would be just fine going into the men's room, when you gotta go, you gotta go. Kinda wonder how many sexually inappropriate incidents or assaults are prevented by separate bathrooms anyway, it's not like there is a portal that blocks you if you are the wrong sex. If a predator is intent on hunting someone, a sign on the door is probably not much of a deterrent.

Thank goodness someone is standing up to this wave of violence and crime committed by transgender people. The South nails yet another pressing issue!

I love how Southerners react to the phrase 'unisex bathroom,' you'd think someone just threatened their children with a wood chipper. It's getting harder to maintain that bigotry towards gay people, I guess transgenders are the fallback target now?

Haha. Good point. I'd love to see compuwiz's face when a 6'5" transvestite pulls his dress up to take a piss in the urinal next to him lol.

So cynical! I would think a third bathroom would be the path to eventually having only one, for everyone. Not in our lifetimes, perhaps, but still.

Personally, I don't care for the whole Southerner/Floridian attitude in general, either. Just another stereotype?

I worked for a large corporation that had a unisex bathroom installed here over 10 years ago.

Granted, I thought he/she was more of an attention whore than anything, and had to work with on a few projects.

Seemed more like was just using it to be the token "transgendered" person at the time to me. It made the company look more progressive I suppose.
