<< Michael Jackson has always been white. >>

LOL

<< There has always been MTV >>

and it stopped actually playing music before they started watching it.

The funny thing is, I am one of those 1983'ers, and like half of these things don't apply, generally b/c I was poor when I was younger, and thus:

*All I had was a hand me down Atari 2600 growing up
*Jiffy Pop popcorn, made in a PAN, was my fave popcorn
*I have a record player, and my fam has gone through like, 3 of them...we still use one NOW :Q
*I've heard of/owned/played 8-tracks
*I STILL don't have an answering machine
*I got cable in 1992
*I used to play my Atari on a b/w TV :Q
*I didn't know what MTV was UNTIL I saw cable for the first time in 1988
*I didn't CARE until Beavis and Butthead came out 😀
*MJ was pseudo-black for a while until the 90s...and I worshipped him from the age of 4 onwards...
*I've seen Larry Bird play live (used to live in Boston)
*I am Pac-Man JESUS

And other things I'm too lazy to type 😀 I have an old soul, maybe?

Asked some people at work about the Jordash....and the answer is!

BROOKE SHIELDS....I don't let anything come between me and my Jordashs...

It was just after Blue Lagoon...droooool.

i am an '83er too. Most of those things do not apply to me either.

I do feel a bit old becasue younger kids have no idea who rainbow bright was or what popples were.

Yep, in a few weeks, i will turn the big 1 9

<< born in 1983. >>

I was born in 1986...

*My parents have a record player. They listen to LPs all the time.
*They still make popcorn in a pan on the stove
*I grew up with an IBM PS/1 286 (not exactly like your Ataris, but close enough)
*I still watch TV on a 25 year old color Sony unit, but had a B&W one in the past
*There is no answering machine for us.
*No cable either
*My parents used to have one of those BETAs, and I remember it quite well.
*I still use old-style (whatever they're called) roller skates
*I know how to use a typewriter
*Boston and Chicago are two of my favorite bands
*I could care less about MTV

> They have no idea when or why Jordache jeans were cool.

Does ANYONE know why they were cool?

Anybody else here keypunch your programs and feed about 2000 cards into the compiler. Nothing funnier than watching someone pickup their cards and putting them back in order after dropping them.

<< wow, even i fell old by that. and i was born in 1978! 😱 >>

'76 here, and i STILL play my atari, and i still have cassette tapes 😉 😀

<< wow, even i fell old by that. and i was born in 1978! 😱 >>

me too...

....does anyone remember tight rolling your pants? please, someone else remember 😛

yeah my mother has been working on computers well long as i can remember. She had boxes of those darn things in the house. granted im to young to use them myself (born in 73) but i know what they are 😉

I feel like I should put on my Depends. I have shoes older than most of you. Born 1957.

BTW-there were only 4 channels on TV in my youth, and one was Canadian which didn't come on the air until the afternoon.

yup...i remember that. i used to roll. then there were the people that would "pin" their pants with safety pins. my atari is back at home..i got one at a garage sale my sophmore year at college. came with like 80 games and i paid $20 for it. haha...that was one of the best buys ever.

<< > Michael Jackson has always been white. >>

hahahaha
--I was born in 86 and a LOT of them DON'T apply to me....lol!

~sniff~ I miss the 80s. ~sniff~

Of course, it's probably because I was a young, walking hormone 15-18 years ago.

Squisher
I feel your pain.
I was born in 1957 in south GA. We had 2 channels most of the time 3 sometimes.

Those born in 1983 have likely never had a soft drink made with sugar. Instead of the gummy tasting corn syrup.

And they will never know the feeling you got when drinking an ice cold NEHI grape on a hot summer day! 🙂

But, they don't need a soldering pencil to upgrade their computer. And I would not go back to that for all the NEHI that was ever made.

Well this old F___ needs his rest so I had better go.

Huh? Methinks someone did a partial update of an older list.

they don't know about 1973, "I'm not a crook" tricky Dick Nixon
or check point charlie, or the Berlin lifeflights
thinks "apollo 13" must be some new musical group
thinks "asteroids" is a PC based game
thinks a "party line" is 3 way calling, or conference calling
thinks antennas on roftops are really pigeon roosts
hasn't a clue that "where's the beef" started with a blind little old 70 yr ladi for wendy's
have no idea who Freddy Kruger is
draws a blank stare when you mention the Korean war
thinks the bay of pigs literally is a bay of pigs
thinks the Iran-contra affair was a love story
has no clue who the Fonz, is
thinks "our gang" and "Spanky" is a group of gangbangers from East L.A.
thought Star Wars originated on VHS
would starve without a microwave and McDonalds
didn't know that there were 2 other host of the "Tonite Show" before Jay Leno...now most of you know who was in that seat before Jay, but how many of you know who was before "J.C."??
