The funny thing is, I am one of those 1983'ers, and like half of these things don't apply, generally b/c I was poor when I was younger, and thus:

*All I had was a hand me down Atari 2600 growing up
*Jiffy Pop popcorn, made in a PAN, was my fave popcorn
*I have a record player, and my fam has gone through like, 3 of them...we still use one NOW :Q
*I've heard of/owned/played 8-tracks
*I STILL don't have an answering machine
*I got cable in 1992
*I used to play my Atari on a b/w TV :Q
*I didn't know what MTV was UNTIL I saw cable for the first time in 1988
*I didn't CARE until Beavis and Butthead came out :D
*MJ was pseudo-black for a while until the 90s...and I worshipped him from the age of 4 onwards...
*I've seen Larry Bird play live (used to live in Boston)
*I am Pac-Man JESUS

And other things I'm too lazy to type :D I have an old soul, maybe?

I do feel a bit old becasue younger kids have no idea who rainbow bright was or what popples were.

Yep, in a few weeks, i will turn the big 1 9

<< born in 1983. >>

I was born in 1986...

*My parents have a record player. They listen to LPs all the time.
*They still make popcorn in a pan on the stove
*I grew up with an IBM PS/1 286 (not exactly like your Ataris, but close enough)
*I still watch TV on a 25 year old color Sony unit, but had a B&W one in the past
*There is no answering machine for us.
*No cable either
*My parents used to have one of those BETAs, and I remember it quite well.
*I still use old-style (whatever they're called) roller skates
*I know how to use a typewriter
*Boston and Chicago are two of my favorite bands
*I could care less about MTV

Anybody else here keypunch your programs and feed about 2000 cards into the compiler. Nothing funnier than watching someone pickup their cards and putting them back in order after dropping them.

I feel like I should put on my Depends. I have shoes older than most of you. Born 1957.

BTW-there were only 4 channels on TV in my youth, and one was Canadian which didn't come on the air until the afternoon.

~sniff~ I miss the 80s. ~sniff~

Of course, it's probably because I was a young, walking hormone 15-18 years ago.

I feel your pain.
I was born in 1957 in south GA. We had 2 channels most of the time 3 sometimes.

Those born in 1983 have likely never had a soft drink made with sugar. Instead of the gummy tasting corn syrup.

And they will never know the feeling you got when drinking an ice cold NEHI grape on a hot summer day! :)

But, they don't need a soldering pencil to upgrade their computer. And I would not go back to that for all the NEHI that was ever made.

Well this old F___ needs his rest so I had better go.
