Well. Miranda just went Wild Bill Hickock on the Shadow Thieves. Gonna do a couple of side quests and gain a couple of levels now before going on the boat with Bohdi.
i've never gone with bodhi. what kind of loot do you get from her? linvail gives you some pretty nice shit.
When you kill Arain Linvail he has some nice stuff. I think Bohdi just gives you some misc low-level equipment.
I went with Bodhi for the first time for my recent evil-run and I'm pretty sure the rewards are exactly the same. If you go with Bodhi, you get access to the lair, where you can, strangely enough, still get the Mace of Disruption (you'd think vampires wouldn't keep an undead-destroying mace in their own lair... oh well).
When you go with Aran Linvail, he gives you a bunch of stuff - when you kill him, you get the same items.
Now that I've experienced Bodhi, I'd still much rather go with the Shadow Thieves - the entire time I was in the shadow thief complex I was constantly paranoid of thieves going invisible and backstabbing you (it's a backstab even if he hits you in the front! Stupid game mechanics...). Plus, vampires give more EXP anyway. They do level drain, though, which can be a pain if you're not immune to it or don't have a way to cure it without a temple.

shield of balduran is the best 15,000 gold you'll ever spend.
reflects beholder rays
Some beholders still cast spells

I found this out the hard way when I got imprisoned by the spell and not a beholder ray. I believe The Unseeing Eye is one of these Beholder Mages. He can be a pain sometimes, because even after you use the rod, he has a thing for contingency'ing in a Protection from Magical Weapons...
And I would argue that the Robe of Vecna ranks very high up there in the "best xxx gold you'll ever spend" if you have a sorceror.
