I lurked for about 3 months before I joined, but I see that's not the type of lurking you are talking about now. You are talking about members lurking.

I lurk here daily but don't often take the time to post, many of the threads are just entertaining to read. I mean how funny are some of the YAGT's? The debates on AT about politics and world issues are always fun as well, there is a lot of info in those threads and you get to hear many different points of view. But that whole arguing on the internet thing is so true, therefore I don't spend my time in endless arguments. :)

Same :D

Nope! I'm not afraid to post. :)

I help out on two web sites and I come here when I have some free time.

Would love to spend more time here but work comes first.

I was a lurker for the first couple of months after i registered, but in the last month or two, i've actually been trying to actively participate (read: nef) in discussions when i feel i actually have something to say.

I used to be active on the BBS, then about Jan 00 I just lost interest... I'd still read the software/OS stuff almost weekly, but rarely posted, read the articles and stuff on the site - it was just that I didn't have much time and the dynamic changed in OT.
I became active in posting again when I remembered my password and logged in ;)
One bad thing about becoming active again, my title was "Member" for a LONG time, even past the post count for Senior, and I loved that - but it was changed to Senior Member for some reason. Plain "Member" was old school :D

I am an OT lurker.

I've been in/out of OT a bit since I joined, but I mainly reside in the DC forum, which is where probably about 90-95% of my posts come from!

I just don't see the point in just quoting what someone else has said as a first answer to a thread, or quoting a huge chain, and adding a single smilie, or a couple of word answer.

In OT, I am just a lurker, reading, laughing to myself over the stupidity of some of the members (in most of the current YAGT's), but you come over to DC, and you will see me as a very active member. It's just a different thing. Talking about DC with the guys over there is what I enjoy, but talking about crap on OT doesn't.

EDIT: Recommending LB as a councilor? Isn't that counter-productive if you want them to become less confused?

Oh come now, I solve the old problems (or at the very least mitigate them). It's just that I introduce a bunch of new ones in the mix. Think of it as job security.

Cheers ! :)
