Chortlz. Apparently in your world history began in 1979? Iran couldn't possibly have been reacting to and trying to recover from imperialism since then. Oh no, they are simply e-vil and hate without justification. On the contrary they seem relatively forgiving under the circumstances. I think the Iranian people will achieve the government they want without foreign meddling but they've hardly been given the chance. Indeed the words and deeds of the USA and Britain et alli reinforce the fundamentalists' position by proving them right.

As much as it pains me to back up eits, I have to agree with him. Look at the Anbar and Diyala provinces in Iraq. The moderate and even more fundamentalist Muslims there are now battling AQ because they've finally discovered that AQ is much worse than than the western alternative. In most Muslim countries OBL has lost the prestige he once held as well.
Personally, I have no problem with moderate Muslims. I don't believe they support their ultra-fundy sects and look upon them as crazy people who are making most Muslims look bad.

It *IS* the government of Iran that is a problem, thereby a threat, to the US. It is their actions in the region that can threaten our economy and that of the rest of the world.

OP mixes up between two topics which are unrelated, but I guess when mixed up together they support his cause (?):
1. Iranian public are nice/normal/peaceful/whatever people. Though I don't personally know many, or any genuine Iranians, I can probably agree that the majority of Iranian population are generally speaking nice people.
2. Iran is controlled by a fanatic Muslim regime which does or does not (it doesn't really matter) represent the Iranian people. The fact still remains, Iran as a nation under that regime IS a threat to world's peace. Iran speaks these threats out loud, it doesn't bother hiding its demonic aspirations and makes constant threats to Israel's existence as well as U.S civilians, troops or other domestic or world wide U.S targets.
The two topics do not mix. But we can try and make cliff's from that if you want: Iran is populated with swell people, it'll be a real shame to blow the hell out of them, but we'll have no choice pretty soon if their fanatic leaders remain in the current course.

Israel and the U.S make threats about Iran's regime. Iran makes threats about Israel's regime.

Yep, because the USA was pissed at Iran for kidnapping US citizens on US soil (US Embassy)... also, the USA was scared of fanatic theocracies. Iraq was a secular country and was the lesser of two evils so the US supported Iraq.
All in all, in a grim way, it was a good strategy. How many Iranians died because US produced weapons due to Iran kidnapping US citizens?
Being pro-Iranian is not a crime, but you're going to have a very hard time convincing me or any other senseful person that Iran is merely an innocent little country who's only replying to U.S and Israeli threats.
The claims you're making are preposterous, Iran is a country which among other specialties supports and organizes terrorism, and constantly violates international laws.
With the disarmament (?) of N. Korea, Iran is currently the biggest threat to the free world.
Look at the countries that side with Iran- Syria, ,N. Korea, Venezuela all of which are "surprisingly" led by a fanatic leader, and now (comi) Russia seems to want in as well, and you can start sensing the foul smell of a new evil front forming up. The bad guys are re-grouping, we hopefully will be smart enough to stop it before its too late.

Why do we have to keep going through this? The US did not provide Saddam with WMDs to fight against Iran. We supplied him with a very limited amount of conventional weapons (about 1% of his total arsenal) and assisted in some intelligence as well. The vast majority of Saddam's WMDs came from European countries.
That's because there's nothing to look up. Aside from a small group of Imams in the UK who spoke out (and are now in hiding) there hasn't been a bit of "outcry" or any condemnation coming from the so-called "moderate" Muslim majority.

i'm not making a claim... i'm stating a fact. for years, muslims have been speaking out against terrorist acts. it's nothing new. obviously, you had blinders on after 9/11.
