Are you actually tasting it, or just poking it with an appendage? Tasting them, I would think it should be extremely easy to do.

That was a big test in cooking school. You think it's easy, but it's really not. I'm not even sure I could do it anymore. At least half of our class back then failed (it wasn't for a grade, it was more of a demonstration).

If you're in a situation where you get three roasted meats together, see how you do 🙂 You'd be surprised on how much sight influences flavor.

Yeah I remember it from Soul of a Chef. I just thought there was something more specific to what they were tasting, not the overall plain meats. Been years since I read it though.

I've had a mixed grill before and the meats usually taste quite distinct, plus they have different textures, but I never closed my eyes while eating them.

taylor ham, which is probably pretty close to spam.

Was coming here to post this. Being from NJ, I grew up on taylor ham egg and cheese on a bagel for breakfast. Simply the best!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Love? not really but I do like Durant fruit flavor foods (cookies and cakes), Kim Chi is not bad after you get over the smell. I also tried and liked fried crickets with peanuts in the belly. Oh, and spicy eels...yummy.

Edit: Almost forgot. Cow and pig intestines and stomaches are yummy after you cooked them well. I have not try their tongues yet. Oh, and no go for me on the 1/2 and 1/2 duck/chicken eggs. Too much for me.

I used to eat mayo sandwich sprinkled with a lot of pepper. I actually thought I was a chef. 🙂

My mom loves drupes, but I personally hate them.

I like anything with gravy on it, some things you would think wouldn't go with it.

Now, if we're talking about something more mainstream... the Walmart single plate with chicken tenders and mashed potatoes and gravy. Yeah, I know they're not real mashed potatoes and who the fuck knows what the gravy actually is, but I use the 'taters&gravy as the "dip" for my chicken tenders. Because heart attack on a plate. I had one yesterday for the first time in months because I am seriously trying to cut back on eating bad shit. Is it disgusting? Yes - disgustingly good.

Most people would probably say Scrapple but I don't think it's gross and eat it in public with no problem. Poutine gets odd looks but is yummy when made well. Which probably leaves this:

I like the industrial pudding you get at cheap cafeterias. It comes in paint buckets. :\
It is probably at least cooked for pasteurization? Mixing powder with milk is an abomination, one I nom nom.

that picture needs a NSFW tag D:

Cheese is the grossest thing.

It's made of secretions from modified sweat glands of various animals, treated with animal stomach juice or bile (or synthetic variants of it). Then fungus is often thrown on it and the mixture is left to sit and stew in bacteria for several months so that the bacteria can digest it and change its texture.

Then you eat it without cooking it.

BTW, that grossness becomes all the more apparent when you have a kid. Just wait until you have an infant have its fill of your wife's breast milk, and then throw up on you. Looks just like ricotta cheese! Cuz in essence, that's what it is.

Unagi. Raw eel
Unagi is almost always cooked.

Spam, vienna sausage and chicken gizzards. My dad makes some pretty gross raw stuff thats actually awesome. He'll take either beef or fish, slice it up into little stir fry sized portions, squeeze lemon juice on it, mix it with peppers and green onions. Chill it and serve at feeding time. It's awesome but looks gross.
