Food confessions: what's the grossest thing you love?

I don't like gross things. If it was gross, I wouldn't fucking like it, would I? A more appropriate question would be "What do you like that other's find gross?" and to which I would have to answer: brut zero champagne. A lot of people find rather unappealing, but that is only because they are fucking children who need a ton of sugar in something to enjoy it.

You know how I know you're getting old?

I remember a time when you used to be not so ornery. Methinks you need some

Maybe I'll share some of mine with you. Though you'll have to steal the Geritol from Olds yourself.

Hey! I've been on my crusade against sugar since I was a wee child!

Nah, I wasn't poking you about the sugar thing... just the general overall orneriness I've noticed from you as of late.

I'm down with the added sweetener stuff myself. I'll add raw cane to certain things, but I can't stand most of the sweetened prepackaged crap these days. I've never really been fond of sugar as it is - I'd rather have a bag of chips rather than a piece of cake any day.

My wife says that they are an abomination no matter how they are done. 🙁

roast them hot, with balsamic, oil, pepper, salt, maybe toss in some shallots, they are amazing. ...even without shallots.

The problem is overcooking them. I think it's harder to overcook them when roasting in the oven, than if sauteing them.

holy shit, that looks amazing--the cheese sauce in particular.

as for the fries on burgers/steak sandwiches thing....I assume it's a long/slow growing trend...perhaps derived from certain South American dishes?

Potatoes are huge in Peru, obviously, and you often see their beef dishes served with fried potatoes on top (beef generally prepared Asian style, as modern Peruvian cuisine is largely borrowed from Chinese cuisine--due to long immigration history)

lomo saltado = yum.

pickled deer hearts
squirrel meat

I don't consider them gross, but I know a lot of squeamish city dwellers who do.

some of your people's definitions of 'gross' are weird.

just cause it's high in fat doesn't make it gross. hell, if that were the case, half the foods i eat are 'gross'.

to the guy who posted head cheese.... I salute you. I will never...ever... go near that stuff.

Gross is pretty relative. Any food you can name, I can name a person that thinks its gross. I even know a woman that thinks drinking water is gross (yes, she is morbidly obese).

Pickled eggs and Thai fish sauce smell "funny" but I love them. Pork, including bacon, is the nastiest thing I enjoy regularly. Chicken meat though, it tastes like the industrial chicken barns, or any of the industrial meat produced where it is now a federal crime to film or photograph, I really need to be craving protien to eat that shit.

OK, Pork Rinds (Chicharones) and BBQ Vienna Sausage are nastier than SPAM, I love those too.

But haven't indulged in awhile.
