I'm not a Christian, dumbfvck.
You're just wacko.

Yeah, I think we all realize you're not a Christian. That's blatently obvious. I'll thank you to stop cursing at me and insulting me now, as well. I've refrained from doing such, why can't you?
I agree, he shouldn't have called you a dumbfvck. Wacko, on the other hand, is not an insult but an astute observation!

That's just your opinion, but I'll concur. I certainly am a whacko in the eyes of those that haven't received the truth of Salvation.

Nope...even to those who've accepted Jesus, you're a wacko.

Once again, that's just your opinion but this time I'll have to disagree with you entirely. Those who've truly accepted Salvation understand that zealotry for Yeshua is not a recommendation, but a requirement.
You calling me a whacko only justifies my faith.

Thanks for the compliment, Red Dawn! At least I know I'm doing something right :) It's sad that you all think zealotry for Yeshua is a bad thing. I'll pray for you all. G-d bless!

Hey, you popped into this thread spouting your inane bullsh!t

I suppose it does if you're a communist or a fascist, but otherwise it doesn't. Are you a communist or a fascist? I doubt it so why do you think your opinion is any more valid than mine?

Re: that *one* woman's comments, she's just one person, yet she speaks for the entire group? How do you know she's not just saying that because she thinks she can get money out of it? You don't, nor do I. I would be wary of basing an opinion entirely off of the comments of a single person, but that's just me...

Again, read the article...it was SEVERAL people.

Re: AA being in for a world of hurt, the ACLU *should* be all over this one if any action is taken against this pilot (they may not though, knowing their anti-christian stances they've taken in the past) and even if they don't, I can guarantee you AA will be boycotted because of it. How is that *not* a world of hurt?

AA will be boycotted if they DON'T! Who wants to be preached and berated on a flight by the freakin' pilot?!!?

Besides, you also haven't addressed the point of the pilot insulting the passengers. Not very Christian of him, eh??

I think you need to re-read the article. It wasn't "several people" it was one woman's statement that several people were offended, not several people's statments that they were offended. I guess little details like that don't matter though, eh?

Oh, and for anyone who wants to bring up the whole "captive audience argument" don't bother. Every single person chose to be on that flight and, last time I checked this was still the U.S. of A. and we still have a First Amendment which guarantees the right to free speech and religion.
As far as the "appropriateness" of his comments (i.e. timing or wording) I'm not aware of any law which prohibits doing such a thing on an airplane, and even if there was it would be unconstitutional anyway.

They bought a ticket on an airplane not to a revival. As far as myself, I'm scared to death flying anyway, if the pilot said that on a lfight I was on I would have panicked for sure. It was an outrageously stupid thing to do.

Aw, don't be scared of little old me! I'm not gonna come to your house and try to convert you ;) I don't even discuss my religious beliefs with anyone IRL unless I know they want to discuss it and/or are of the same beliefs as me.

Oh...so because one person was offended it automatically means she's lying?

And...come on...address the issue of the "Christian" pilot insulting the passengers. Come on, boy. You can do it. Come on...come on.

I saw a news program today where there were a couple of Passengers on who were offended and who stated that most others on the flight were bothered. In fact when that wacko asked for the Christians to raise their hands not one passenger raised their hands. On the other hand many passengers got on their cell phones to call their loved ones because they were frightened by the announcement!

I never said she was lying, interesting that you would, however ;) I just don't think it's right to base one's opinion on an event based on what a single person says, that's all.
eh..... I've been addressing the issue this whole time.... Just what do you think I've been doing?

You haven't addressed one thing about the pilot's words that people who don't raise their hands are crazy.

Was that appropriate or not? Given the current state of affairs with terrorism and religious zealotry, do you not think that's an alarming thing to do for an airline pilot??

So according to you anybody can enter a private vehicle or building and say what ever they want?

You guys are wasting your breath arguing with flyer. If he can't see that the dude preaching his beliefs while he is working and is a representative of his company is WRONG, then his head is messed up. You can't reason with that.

First of all there are exceptions to Free Speech, like yelling "fire" ina crowded theater. For someone who is afraid to fly, this pilot's question is tantamount to that, IMHO.

But beyond that, there is the issue of the rules and regulations that pertain to a pilot, both from the company he works for and the FAA. I'm fairly sure that in that context there are limits on his freedom of speech.

Good. I'm glad my beliefs scare the non-believers. Righteousness certainly does some alien to the unrighteous.

Yeah, it's called "captive audience" and "speech meant to incite a riot" and I've already addressed this issue. Neither applies to this scenario.

Cabin crew were so overwhelmed by alarmed passengers that they contacted ground staff who spoke to the pilot.

Well there ya go! That takes care of that.
Too bad they're scared of a man suggesting others of different beliefs share said beliefs with them. I didn't know talking could be so scary!!!! Ooooooooooh, be careful folks, the evil Christians might come to get you while you're onboard an airplane and talk to you!!!

LOL, that's funny. And your argument defeats mine how? Oh, wait, that was nothing more than a witty statement concocted to make you look knowledgeable about this subject.
Come back when you've got a real argument ;)

I am a Christian church-going member, and I believe your zealousness is truly doing more harm to this community than good.

Why? That would be my question. Not that people can't express themselves but WHERE did this guy get to thinking this is a good idea. Point out the exits and make a comment about the altitude. Most people on the plane I would imagine don't care to have to explain themselves just because the pilot was born again. He should put on a robe and go to a mall if this was is his thing.
