And, the waitress was bitching she didn't get a tip on a $0 tab... So, there's that. Why was it comped? Does anyone know? Maybe, it was comped because the service was exceptionally bad by Ms. Nguyen?

not sure if srs.

0 markup = unlikely. I'd assume 1.5L bottles for $500 a pop but definitely not 4.5L

Lots of places don't stock large bottle. They are hard to pour accurately, especially for women bar tenders. And, I would imagine, if it were anything other than the standard, it would have stated it, similar to the 6-liter of champagne they bought.

You guys very well may be right, just throwing out there that it might not be your standard bottle. Of course, this is Vegas, it could have been a $500 shooter for all I know.

Is it unreal that an establishment, especially one with such insane prices in Vegas, would comp a party of a very popular athlete who had bad service, rather than have said athlete tweet to all his follows that said establishment has crap service and to stay away? They are out like $1500 in alcohol. Hardy the amount they'd be out if Mayweather and co. decided to post on Instagram their tab and said "includes shitty service; never coming back to Rehab".

Sure, although it's far more likely that Rehab comped Mayweather cuz he's hot shit and they want him to come back cuz it's free promotion.

if he wanted to make a statement about shit service, he would've left a 20 cent tip.

She deserves extra money for doing her job? F- that. Pay her a normal wage and it wouldn't be an issue.

I'd concede, if the larger than normal bottle of champagne wasn't listed as well. They list 20 bottles (which is assumed to be a 750ml) and then specifically list a 6 liter. Why, if the bottles of Patron are not the standard size, would it not list that? Also, bottle service is a rip off, this is known. Go to any restaurant, bar, or club and order a bottle. It will be 5 to 10 times the cost at a liquor store.

Mayweather can't read, you expect him to be clever enough to leave an intentionally small tip to get the point across that the service was bad?

Little known fact: if a waitress being paid the server minimum does not make more than that federal (or state, if higher) minimum wage after tips, the establishment has to, by law, pay them the minimum wage. They don't "work for tips"; they work for, at least, minimum wage but have the opportunity to make more.

If it's comped, then that means it's fucking free.

Is that what comped means? I was under the impression it meant compiled. I thought they took the list of items on his bill and compiled it into a 'Bill' class file. Thanks for clearing that up!

Yes, free as in Mayweather doesn't have to tip either. All the casino's bitches are belong to him, including their time.

Agreed. If I get something comped (other than if it sucked and I refused it), or if I use a coupon to get part of the order free, I still tip on the entire order.

It seems some people liken servers to prostitutes, even labeling them here as whores here, as if they are the dregs of society. I guess a serial killer could take a bunch out and no one would care, since this demographic is the 'unwanted', lol.

(ok maybe I've been watching too much of 'the killing', but there are some very retarded posts in this thread.)

LOL @ ATOT sticker shock. These prices (although comped in this case) aren't even limited to Vegas. If this was a night club, the you can easily add another 25% to the price.

Anyone with two brain neurons to rub together know when you get comped you still have to tip out wait staff who aren't covered by the house comp.

Agreed, altho I think your nickels are in the wrong pocket. ;)

You still have to? I wasn't aware a tip was mandatory at all. I don't have to tip, regardless of the price of the service.

Anyone with two brain neurons knows a waiter / waitress will be paid the mandatory minimum wage (not servers minimum wage), if after tips they do not meet that amount. So, they are minimum wage workers. They make the same $8 an hour McDonalds workers do. However, they are offered a benefit most aren't: do a good enough job, and you can get a higher wage, simply due to patrons feeling you are deserving.

Obviously, Mayweather and co. did not feel this particular waitress was deserving.

Of course though, we can't go around thinking that when a server doesn't get tipped that her service was to blame. It had to be because the diner was an asshole. No way the server could be at fault.

it was probably comped because it was FMFM and he had a-lister's in their party, people would know and want to party there too

Listen to yourself. The waitress was expecting something over $4,500 (18%) + her hourly wage. Are you seriously saying that she should be happy and have no complaints because her employer will still have to pay minimum wage? She served over $25,300 of food and drink! It wasn't even a remotely normal workload.

I'm just wondering about the tax implications for her, being the tipped server of record and the IRS expecting her to pay taxes on her tips.

3 Grey Goose - $1,425
6 bottles of Ciroc - $2,850
20 bottles of Luc Belaire Rose champagne - $11,500
1 6-liter bottle of Luc Belaire Rose - $6,500
200 chicken wings - $600
1 fruit platter - $55

:hmm:

something isn't right here....wtf is up with the absurd markup, and the alarming markdown on these two items, in particular?

Her expecting $4,500+ is the problem. And, it was a remotely normal workload. She works as a pool party server. Rehab is routinely filled with tons of people ordering tons of things. The fact that these items were all on the same ticket has no consequence to the fact that her job is to serve these items. She is upset because she saw a person with tons of disposable income and they didn't give her any. She is the female equivalent of dmcowen674.

Do I think she should be tipped for her service, if it is good? Of course. I don't agree with Mayweather not tipping if nothing was afoul. However, I don't believe she is owned shit beyond her base pay.
