Care to explain how this is not voter suppression? It literally suppresses peoples ability to vote based on their ability to pay fines.
I just read THIS and have changed my mind about voter suppression.

What?
During the midterm's a local district here in Daytona FL, (in a predominantly black area ) were all herded into one polling place, I was on my bike and stopped annd talked to a few since the line went 1/4 mile down the sidewalk, some had been in line hours already and were wearing out.I just read THIS and have changed my mind about voter suppression.
Was waiting for a punchline that didnt come. My bad.huh?
Update on this issue.

Appeals court OKs Florida law forcing felons to pay off fees before voting
The 6-4 ruling by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed claims made by lawyers on behalf of several felons that the 2019 law was too vague.www.politico.com
6-4 ruling upholding the law. Looks like ex- felons won't be voting this year or anytime soon in florida.
Seems sad to watch corrupt politicians directly interfere with the will of the people.
Just a coincidence. Totally a coincidence. Can't vote until you pay your fines and the sate can't tell you what the fines are sure seems like unjust disenfranchisement.
That many ex criminals live in Florida? Never mind. This is a disgusting turn and the fact that there is no active database to even tell these people what/who/where they owe
$$ to makes it literally impossible to vote. With FL, (and it's whopping 29 electoral points) THE key "battleground" state Trump just got a huge gift here, this needs to go to the SCOTUS sooner rather than later. Probably won't matter with Trump lackeys in charge there too.
1.4 million. More ex felons live in Florida than in several us states. That many ex criminals live in Florida? Never mind.
Recent Florida polling has 48% Biden, 48% Trump. Latinos leaning to Trump, older (white?) voters leaning more and more to Biden.
The polling was very likely before this last week's revelations:
Trump's disparaging comments of military members as losers and Bob Woodward's revelations that Trump has known all along that the virus is 5x as deadly as the flu and is easily transmissible by breathing in viral particles yet publicly said it was no worse than the flu and that mask wearing and social distancing were bad ideas.
Funny, last week I got a Rural Customer Delivery Instructions card (PS form 4232) in the mail. Questions about where to leave my parcel, if to leave a parcel, who can sign for parcels. Just seems strangely out of the blue.My FL USPS informed delivery contains messaging about planning ahead for early voting by mail.
Keep in mind this might have been a drug possession charge decades old and when the ballot was voted in last roundThat many ex criminals live in Florida? Never mind.
Not exactly -Keep in mind this might have been a drug possession charge decades old and when the ballot was voted in last round
there were provisions foe violent crime to be excluded from rights restoration.
Wow. NC getting it right. This is great. Maybe too little to late for this year but a step in the right direction. At least they finally got it right in N Carolina-

North Carolina Court Wipes Out Voting Restrictions Designed to “Secure White Supremacy”
Tens of thousands of people are suddenly eligible to vote in November.slate.com
yup, and like FL anyone entering the system is charged for everything, public defender?, $60, jail cell?, $50/day, drug test?, $25. These all add up to an amount few can afford to pay when they get out and since the FL courts haveWow. NC getting it right. This is great. Maybe too little to late for this year but a step in the right direction.
Disenfranchisement AND gerrymandering. Cant forget that.Unfortunately they do know that, they just know that it'll result in a higher turnout for Democrats and a lower turnout for Republicans, as is the case in virtually every voting bloc. Disenfranchisement is the only way the Republican party stays in power nowadays, since they've completely abandoned all principals they once had that aren't vile.
Oh I'm well aware that FL loves locking people up. Don't get caught doing bad shit in FL unless you are a real estate developer.Keep in mind this might have been a drug possession charge decades old and when the ballot was voted in last round
there were provisions foe violent crime to be excluded from rights restoration.
I don't care what the say about Bloomberg, love his style.

Bloomberg raises $16 million to help Florida felons pay fines to vote in November
The funds will fuel a voter program that has identified 32,000 mostly Black and Latino voters who would otherwise be disenfranchised.www.nbcnews.com
