Barack Obama voted against a bill that would have protected infants born alive having survived an abortion attempt!
Something about the child infringing on the mother's rights... And Pelosi regards babies as a burden to her state. This is becoming a Government that the people are becoming a nuisance to and not a government for the people.

You're pro-choice, and you know what goes on at an abortion clinic, yet you find this sickening?
Do you know what happens during a typical abortion procedure? Ever witnessed one, or seen the aftermath?
I'm pro-choice too, but I don't pretend that a fetus that died due to extreme prematurity is more sickening than a fetus that has it's skull crushed and brains sucked through a tube.

Exactly. That child born live regardless of your views on abortion must be protected. If there were such a law in place, then there would be little question of murder charges being filed.
Again, very interesting. Remember that pro-choice laws don't infringe on the rights of pro-life mothers, but pro-life laws DO infringe on the rights of pro-choice mothers.Originally posted by: EXman

Renelique said he had advised the patient to come in early as a precaution, and that when he was en route to the clinic, he was called to tend to another patient having an emergency.
He said the clinic staff members didn't tell him about the delivery when he arrived.

Per se Manslaughter - the baby was born, which makes it a person in legal sense.
It wasn't viable. I guess all those mothers who have miscarriages are guilty of manslaughter, flushing their "babies" down the toilet and all.
Really? You are going to try and defend what this guy did?
A lot of people arent viable, even as adults. Should be toss them into the trash as well?
I defend what this guy did. How's it any worse than vacuuming the baby/eviscerating it?
Of course on a moral ground you are correct. However not everybody holds the same moral code or see's abortion for what you or I do. From a legal standpoint when a baby is delivered it is protected under our law and afforded constitutional as well as human rights. Dropping it on the floor and letting it bleed out violates both.
Huh, when did start becoming such an advocate of universal health care?
How does this apply to UHC?

You seem to be say that the fetus has the right to medical care.
If people actually witnessed all aspects of the various abortion procedures (yes there are movies available on the internet), then I would feel that they have a moral right to an opinion on the subject. Beware...not for the faint of heart.Originally posted by: AAjax
I seem to remember Ron Paul stating that he witnessed a situation such as this when he was a young doctor, and thus shaped his views on abortion altogether. This might happen allot more than people care to admit.

It's definitely a fine line between what's right and wrong. Thinking about it rationally, it shouldn't really matter whether the baby was killed in utero or outside the mother, but the latter just seems far more reprehensible to me for some reason.Originally posted by: jpeyton
Against the mom, maybe.Originally posted by: frostedflakes
That is pretty sick; murder seems like an appropriate charge.
His mistake was not killing the fetus first before it exited the mother's body.
Any women here want to chime in?

Me too. He understands what abortion is...although I disagree with his pro-choice position, I fully respect him for taking an honest look at the stark reality here...a very, very difficult thing to witness.Originally posted by: Atreus21

Fixed for you. Good thing we base our rules on reason, not emotional response to gory pictures or videos. To me abortion is no different than any other surgery
