I bet those people will be more careful about speeding on I-95.

I've seen those a few times. Saw one a few weeks ago on Powers Blvd here in Colorado Springs.

You've never seen that before?? They do that all the time in Michigan in certain areas.

*shudders at the thought*

Ours would consist of a state trooper running radar gun with local PD/sheriff doing the ticket honors...

Looks like a field day.

The stretch of I-95 between the the MD/DE boarder and Baltimore can get that kind of action. I have seen 6 or 7 marked cars on each side of the road with another handful of unmarked cars running in traffic

I hate speed traps... If that many people are speeding means the speed limit needs to be raised.

speed limit is based on the geometry of the road and average driver reaction time

They do that crap here. Cops dressed as construction workers and such on the roadside or up in booms. One new ploy they have is plain clothes cops next to what appears to be broken down vehicles on the shoulder. They stand shielded by the hood popped open and zap you.

bait and switch.

People slow down because they see the cop, but start to speed again and bam they got em.

I'll be the first one to admit that I speed all the time, but that is some really stupid logic.

Meh, we got like a dozen cops on motorcycles waiting on the cross street of a busy and long road here. Speed limit is 35 but everybody goes over that by a good margin. Multiple cars get wtfpwn.

BTW, for all the Frisco homies, this is on the stretch of Alemany between Geneva and Sickles.

I think the guy on the road was picking off the speeders and letting his buddies know. I couldn't tell it was a cop standing there until I got close enough to see a gun on his hip. He wasn't wearing a uniform.

I believe in Ontario, you could get a ticket like that dropped, because the cop operating the radar gun is not the one writing you the ticket, and thus, the cop writing you a ticket didnt actually see you speeding and has no evidence against you. Not 100% on this, but pretty sure.

They do it all the time here in Houston. They had a setup like this just a couple of months ago on 59 just after they opened up the new overpass going out of my neighborhood because people were flying down the 4 lane feeder (new also) as if it was the highway. I caught it the first morning because I don't really speed and then laughed and watched idiot after idoit fly past me and get tickets the rest of the week.

well technically he has a point. if a good majority are going faster than the speed limit then they could possibly get it changed.

Keep heading South on 95 towards Miami the and next 75 miles past Melbourne are bad. Usually it's a motorcycle cop in the center lane running radar with several cars about a mile down the interstate waiting to pull people over.

I got sucked into one of those in Jelico TN.... Sucked big time.

Melbourne PD (and Brevard County Sherriffs dep) aren't the nicest fellers either.

To be honest, I don't give two sh!ts about a speeder getting a ticket (I rarely speed). What concerns me about this particular setup is that the cars are waiting on the shoulder of an acceleration ramp of a busy interchange.
