so how does firefox make money?
I have always wondered how web browsers make money, seems Microsoft is always spending fortunes to develop their to get a higher user base, but where does the money come from?
I don't know all the ways but if you notice, Firefox has it's own Google search page. They also get donations but that's probably a drop in the bucket. It is speculated that Mozilla (who produces Firefox) gets anywhere from 50-100 million a year from Google.
That's why if you use Firefox, keep the default Firefox Google search page. It Firefox continue to get funding.
Incidentally, Google pays Apple to have Safari use Google as the default search engine.
