Hot Fuzz had a funny moment when he was in the catacombs and came across the gold mime guy, who just happened to be frozen with a look of horror on his face.

However, on the whole I liked Shaun of the Dead a little better.

I like pretty much every scene with the Andy's in hot fuzz. :D

"Prick!" "Wankerrrrrr!"

Comedy Central heavily edited it. Like the part where they do the whole planning thing (if you could call it that) was cut to only one planning pass, getting rid of a good joke.

Shaun: [cuts to dream sequence a third time] Take car. Go to mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?
Ed: Yeah, boyyyeee!
[Shaun and Ed clang weapons together]

I lolled at that. :D

Ah, you cut the scene off too quickly. You know what capped it?

Shaun: We may have to kill my step dad.... :D

I liked Hot Fuzz way way more than Shaun of the Dead. I didn't care much for the latter.

The problem for me with Shaun of the Dead was that it looked like it was going to be a movie making fun of zombie movies through and through, but it in the end it sort of turned out to be a zombie movie in its own right... meh...

IMO, you can't really mix horror with happy-go-lucky comedy...its part of the reason why Club Dread failed after Super Troopers.

I loved it. It's funny, I remember watching the preview and thinking it looked awful, but in reality I find the movie compulsively watchable - I can see it over and over and always laugh.

Hot Fuzz was a much better movie. I actually like Zombie movies more than the action/cop movies, but Shaun of the Dead didn't even come close to the genius of Hot Fuzz. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good movie, but Hot Fuzz is in another league.

Hot Fuzz with sourround sound and a nice subwoofer is something to try, loud volume of course, the over amount of bass used is kinda funny.

I felt the same way the first time I watched Hot Fuzz, but on a second viewing I found it really lags for long stretches. On balance I think Shaun of the Dead is better paced and more consistently entertaining.
