What do you use to compose your music? I've always been interested in doing some game remixes and just some electronic stuff in general.

Oh btw, SUPER METROID IS THE BEST GAME EVER!

Valinos - believe it or not, but I'm mostly using only Reason and /or Cubase. Reason is just so darn incredible, you pull off entire masterpieces with it. I generally master however with a two-track editor and some high end plugins by Waves, TCNative. Timeworks, etc. Their compressors and enhancers can't be beat.

Probably the most important thing though is speakers and soundcard. I use an Echo Mia and Event 20/20's. Absolutely required for high-quality productions!

hey, you all know he makes money every time you listen through each song right? I wouldnt support him if he's making $$ off of you listening to his songs. If your only goal is to get up to the top of the charts, you shoudl donate the $ you make off of it to some charity.

Why dont we just listen to his music, be happy with it, and let him make off however well he does? Why does somone always have to play the "hey, hes making money off this, lets not help him!" card?

Just live and let live, ok?

But, he has to pay up-front to MP3.com and he has to have a lot of listens to break even. Plus, it's free music for us, and free money for him, WTF not? It's not like it takes tons of our time or is unpleasant to listen to the music. Also, he doesn't get money every time you play the song. I think it only accepts one listen per IP/subnet per day.

a good point, but allow me to clarify a little...

1) I pay a $20 montly fee to receive any kind of money from mp3.com, which is taxed just like any other job. Fact is, as long as I get $20 worth of plays to pay off that fee (which I will whether I advertise here or not), I really don't care how much more I make. Anything extra will go towards my "better gear = better music" charity fund.

2) I only get a "qualified play" if the IP of the listener is unique from that day. i.e. if you loop the songs I only get the first playback. This is why I ask if people can play the song once daily!

3) The pure point of putting the music up there was to be with community, get exposure, and receive feedback on some hard work I've put into making music.

4) Since I've dreamed of writing music for a game company some day (and will possiblly have MDK2 Reconstruction on Creative Edge Studio's game this year), the exposure of having a #2 chart topper on the game soundtracks genre helps a BUNCH.

5) Making music is FUN. I only want plays so that my track is up top. I have a full time job just like everyone else - I only want others to have FUN listening to my music, and the feedback I get on them (other than "it is good" or "it is bad") is incredible because it allows me to make even better music in the future.

I think thats fair...THANK YOU ALL FOR LISTENING! Please bump the thread

Hey, dipSHlT! Do you spend hours of your time making things for other people to see/listen to/make use of for entertainment and not ever expect any money? His stuff is basically pro-quality tunes compared to other music in my 'collection', and he's letting YOU listen to it for FREE! So what, he makes a dime or something if you listen to it. IF THAT. So what?! I've streamed it several times now, even though I've already downloaded it, just to help him not only get some $, but to get a good spot on the charts.

When you spend your time, give us music/movies/some sort of entertainment for FREE, making NO money off of it in NO way, then please, come back and show us.
