MIDIman, you should seriously consider making some nice HQ megaman remixes. That music always kicked so much ass!

Listened to Metroid, excellent track. Which compression plug-in did you like the most? I'm looking to get one.

I'd lsiten to it if I didn't have to fill out a whole damn form to "sign up" just to listen to a song.

nice, I usually don't like techno but this is good stuff. Keep it up, you got some skill.

thanks all for more wonderful comments...curious if it'll stay up top tomorrow!!

notfred - sorry about the 'sign-up' thing, but its just a quick survey done by mp3.com. they have to figure out what advertisers to use somehow. the good thing is you only have to do it once, and that's it.

yellowperil - i've been mastering everything, firstly with TCNative's DEX plugin (incredible control over EQ, etc...the presets alone are worth the money!!), and then I usually use the L1 Ultramaximizer included in the Wave Gold bundle to boost the overall volume of the track. Both are highly recommended for mastering - absolutely perfect for crunchy techno music.

As of now, I'm basically selling full quality versions of my mp3.com CDs (i.e. original masters, not compressed files) for $7 shipped, without album graphics. Just send paypal to christian@guirreri.com with a note requesting one.

You guys are amazing. I think I can owe a lot to anandtechers. It should be #1 again tomorrow (don't know yet, but the number of hits is quite higher today than yesterday), and all other tracks should move upwards significantly tomorrow as well. Those playing daily - your clicks are super-appreciated!

I may actually have an official gig through Creative Edge Studios out here in Sterling. He's putting the final touches on an upcoming, yet unnamed video game, and I should have either MDK2 Reconstruction or Can't Stop on this international, multi-console title.

Thanks again.

The point is not whether or not he deserves to make money off of it. It is rather that he is using the AT forums to do so. This is spam/self-advertisement, whether you agree or not. What would be the difference if I post a referral link to a good deal? We both win right? You get a great deal and I make my $.02.

<<

<< hey, you all know he makes money every time you listen through each song right? I wouldnt support him if he's making $$ off of you listening to his songs. If your only goal is to get up to the top of the charts, you shoudl donate the $ you make off of it to some charity. >>

Hey, dipSHlT! Do you spend hours of your time making things for other people to see/listen to/make use of for entertainment and not ever expect any money? His stuff is basically pro-quality tunes compared to other music in my 'collection', and he's letting YOU listen to it for FREE! So what, he makes a dime or something if you listen to it. IF THAT. So what?! I've streamed it several times now, even though I've already downloaded it, just to help him not only get some $, but to get a good spot on the charts.

When you spend your time, give us music/movies/some sort of entertainment for FREE, making NO money off of it in NO way, then please, come back and show us.

How is this any different than posting a link to my website and asking people to go there? i know those posts have been locked. why not this one?

i'm not one to flame, so if you're going to crap my thread - fine, go ahead.

4 pages without any crapping tho tells me that most people don't really care too much...this forum has not provided me with extra money, but rather wonderful feedback and support for making better music.

don't have much else to say other than thanks again. i have some awesome new music coming out this month that i think everyone who has posted here (including the crappers) will really enjoy!

I think I'm going to agree that this is pretty much a referral link and if the FS/FT "no price checks" carries over to other forums, then the Hot Deal's "no referral links" should also be universal. Plus this is basically forum spam since this thread is the fourth one Midiman's started in about a month's time to promote his mp3.com site:

#1 -- Like techno music? videogame music? IDM? Listen to mine!!
#2 -- Check out my trance music!
#3 -- Come give some input on my new trance song!
#4 -- this thread

...which were concerning four different developments that i felt needed separate threads, besides that in each case, one had dropped low enough in the forum that it seemed pointless to continue it.

plain and simple - if you don't like the thread existing so darn much then get a mod to lock it. since people feel so strongly about it, and want to ruin my exposure (and possibly my reputation for being a really nice guy and trader - see heatware) i just don't care anymore.

i think things are being taken just a little bit out of hand myself, but oh well, that's a mob for you...in the meantime, i'm still going to bump this one up every so often if people don't reply, which i never abuse, and when i have a new song up later this month, i'll probably drop this thread for a week or two and start a new one instead of having four pages of feedback on something not relevant to the original posted message.

call me completely stupid if you like, but i guess i dont see what's so wrong with this, when all i want is people to enjoy my music and give me feedback to make better songs. i've received some wonderful pm's and e-mails from people giving very solid information on what they think could make my music more interesting. i honestly dont care about the money, but more so like the features that a premium artist get - faster reponses, better exposure. i have a full time job just like anyone else, and $20 a month extra really isn't going to enhance my life the leaps and bounds some of you make it sound like.

the fact is - without promotion, my music will never be heard, and that was my main reason for my original post. since i'm not a live gigger like some others you see at the top of lists (for instance, the swedish group Aura, who are making an insane amount of money a year) i really can't think of a better place to get feedback, responses, and exposure...i guess that's not what this forum is for...

'nuff said. i won't go on anymore about it.
