Ok, well life is tough in Cuba, I've seen it first hand. I watched a Cuban woman get her purse snatched in the "maqina" (shared taxi) ahead of us and the cop was just sitting there with his arms crossed not doing a thing. The ex's grandmother got cancer and they wouldn't treat her, all they did was gave her pills, she died a few days after we left the last time I was there. She was hilarious. She used to sell coffee to walker by's for a few pennies (coffee was one of the rations every Cuban got). She'd let me know about everybody who came by with just a look no words necessary. What a lady.
The cops are as corrupt as can be. They would randomly flag down private cabs to get a taste of the profits. I know a Cuban guy who has been here in Michigan for a year that god pulled over for driving drunk. He told me you'd just pay the cop off if it happened in Havana.
Cuba is a relative paradise compared to the places whose inhabitants can be readily killed for the sake of american white welfare.
