wow... this movie was crappy and i loved the game.

If you did not play the video game stay far away from this movie...

I was hoping for some more character development and maybe a shred of a STORY, but it was almost 100% action.

I still enjoyed seeing all the characters again.

they seriously should have skipped that lousy cartoon character on that big cat thing... and skip the cat thing as well, for us who have not playd the game it was just totaly silly and made no sense at all.

UH NO. Cait Sith is the best character in the entire game. His presence was required or sacrafices would have had to be made.

I liked the movie but I think it missed something, hard to say, to me it seemed more like an episode of a tv show than the 3 part lord of the rings trilogy they should have made it. Way more story, way more battles, way more build it in the fight scenes would have rocked. I expected more from vincent too. Argh, it was great to see the quality of cgi coming out though.
what is a cartoon character with white mickey mouse gloves doing in the final fantasy world?

Uh FANTASY? It's like asking: What are talking dogs doing in the Final Fantasy world?!?!

that would be my next question

if you are creating a fantasy world you do not mix medias, having he-man, gi joe and donald duck in the same world just does not work. Or better yet, have a world full og gi joes and then one donald duck there, and never explain everything, expect people just to accept it as belivable because its "fantasy"

Yeah, I wanted some actual character development. The fighting was insanely awesome though. It was interesting to see that Cloud was working for Rufus. Very strange.

Dirge of Cerebrus should fill in a lot of blanks. AC is 2 years after FF7's storyline ended, and the Turk cell phone game, the PSP action rpg and Dirge are all between FF7 and AC, I believe.

Get over yourself. It's a video game, and a movie based on a video game.

And it WAS explained in the game.

US release is scheduled for 11/29

If you're looking for character development in an hour and 40 minutes, you already got it with the 50+ hours of gameplay in the game.

it's not a cartoon character. it's a remote-controlled robot that's built to look like one (for reasons that are blantantly obvious if you played the game)

that cat thing also makes sense in the game world.

:thumbsup:The movie definitely needed some Omnislash, a Chocobo, and Tifa with proportionate dimensions to the game, but otherwise woooooooo

that was one amazing movie, albeit the character development did suck ass... but who watches it for character development? go play the game for that sh!t 😛

the action scenes omg :Q:Q:Q:Q:Q

Didn't you watch the ending? That was Omnislash. Although it was a different/improved version.

Just downloaded it....though i got in trouble slightly from mum and dad, it was worth it...i loved it 😀

that was the 700mb version too...i'm downloading the full dvd version with subs now.

oh and if you got the normal video (700mb) they have subs to use with it. I just got a program that works with virtualdub to put the subtitles in the movie, and then i burned it to a dvd.

I dunno why no one likes it. I thought it was great. If not slightly confusing.

Oh...i've heard that the MPAA is tracking down people and/or using IP addresses or something on the bittorrent downloads...

eh...crap. i wish i had peerguardian at that time...rah...likely for me to get caught?

regarding the ending credits: that wasn't rendered... was it? if they did. OMG!
I think they put him on real footage. I think.

yea u could tell, wasn't quite matching.

but yea i could see how that robot cat doesn't match because unless u know.. u would never assume its a frikkin robot cat. its style doesn't match the rest of the cg. repeated use of scenes bothered me too. happens in lots of anime as cost savings, but really it pops me out because of how glaringly obvious it is.
