I see your point and I too would be interested an unbiased comparison.

On a side note speaking from my own experiences in the workforce, I have spent 18 years working in male dominated work enviroments and I have yet to make the same amount of money as male co-workers. At times for good reasons ie. I didnt have as much experience and at other times for no apparent reason.

Gopunk: the NC marital rape law was put through in 1993. Not terribly long ago, I'd say.

to be honest i'm surprised.

but are there any such laws today? i doubt it, and even if there were, they aren't being used to take advantage of women, or else they'd be a lot more obvious.

<< It would be interesting to be able to put that notion to a test and see if it holds true. Many writers have commented that if men could bear children, they would be able to take whatever time they needed with no penalties. >>

If I took a 2 year sabatical I wouldn't have a job when I got back.

The statics thing about race and gender is BS.

You have to look at overall income levels for different races. Income level of a family has a great effect on if a child will go on to recieve higher education.

then you have to look at what majors these races and genders are focusing on.

How many women do you see in your EE anc CS classes? How many blacks do you see in them? I go to rutgers in newark (the school with the most diverse student body in the nation) and Have not seen that many blacks in my any of those classes.

How many women do you know that have/will obtain a liberal arts degree?

like that old saying goes: a liberal arts degree and $5 will get you a 6 pack of beer

Yeah feminists drive me insane. They need to shut the hell up and stop whining, I see women as equals, and so does most of the rest of the world, it is the whiners that make treat them as though they are not equals (also those damn women who won't get off their lazy asses to get things done). I also hate feminists who you go see a movie or something with and they expect you to pay, whats the deal with that?

or what about the ones that think women should be exempt from the draft? i'm sorry, but equality goes both ways, good and bad.

Yeah no sh!t, I had this one feminist at work that asked me if I would go to war if there was a war and I told her no, she said I would have to and I told her I don't have to do anything, then I told her that she would have to go to war too if there was ever the need for it. She then looked at me and said "No I wouldn't I am a woman" I just about lost it on her.

sounds like she was almost gleeful that you would have to go :Q

Yeah pretty much, but I doubt that they would ever force people to go to war in canada so I have nothing to worry about, and if I did have to go, I could choose to go and sit jail or whatever they do to people that won't go. No big deal. Or I would just go and get killed for a cause that I probably wouldn't believe in.
