The statistics are meaningless. They support nothing. Well, untrue. They can be used to support someone who wants to show the stupidity of hate crime laws.

Nah, there are crimes such as terroristic threats. A hate crime is when you say it is not as bad if someone rapes and murders another person for the heck of it than if someone rapes and murders another person because of their race/sexual preference/etc.
