Looks like Trump's assault on our justice system is running people off and the FBI Deputy Director has announced that he'll be retiring soon. Once Republicans stack the deck in their favor will we be able to get justice from them? This assault on our constitution by Trumproast and his supports hell bent on changing the rules to have a blind eye to their activities is just insane. They're opening the door for corruption to rule the roost at every level yet the republitards and religitards cheer with joy over their own demise.

He might want to postpone his retirement decision until a few months beyond that... say, November 7th, 2018. It'll be easier to keep going when the people giving him grief are out of office.

I very much hope this causes Mr. McCabe, a loyal public servant for 30 years, to stick it out as long as he can just to prove that he and the FBI can't be intimidated.

The partisan purge of law enforcement continues. This really shows just how much of Republicanism has been projection all these years.

It's happening across the government, not just in law enforcement. Apparently another defect of rational brains is that they flee from scum. They do exactly what the scum intends and scum wins. Very odd it should work that way. Maybe Mueller will resign too. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Sounds like the Obama era cockroaches are starting to scatter now that their corrupt activities are getting exposed to the light. Keep pushing the Mueller investigation.

McCabe has served in the FBI since 1996. He's a consummate professional & is under attack from Repubs merely as a target of convenience in their war against the truth. I doubt it will do them any good because the FBI & the DoJ have a lot of people very much like McCabe.

Why do you defend McCabe? Why do you defend any FBI agents/directors/employees? These people destroyed this country by getting this buffoon elected and we both know every last dumb ass one of them voted for him too! So why all the sympathy?

F*** the FBI and f*** McCabe

For every position that opens up and gets refilled with a Trump zombie, the seeds of despotism gets sown anew and the government looks more and more like Russia under Putin and every other nation that has been taken over by strongmen with visions of dictatorships swirling around in their dreams at night.

That Trump's supporters would absolutely love for this to happen under his rule speaks volumes about how they want control of the nation through Trump no matter how it happens. Yet these same folks would literally be up in arms and rioting in the streets if a Democrat (as if) ever tired to pull the same stunt.

Pretty scary to admit it, but at the moment the only thing stopping Trump from spreading his disease is a guy named Mueller and his staff of top notch investigators. Those asshole Repubs in the House and Senate would have a collective orgasm if their plans to get rid of Mueller and replace him with a Trump sycophant ever came to fruition.

But maybe it would be good for the nation to see what the Repubs would do if given a free hand, seeing as if they practically have it already and look what they've been up to. It's certainly not anything like the promises they made to their working class voters.

Quite the contrary actually.

If Trump and the Repubs can do all of this damage in a year and even more in the very near future yet still maintain their grip on the gov't after the '18 elections, then there's no telling how deeply they can corrupt the inner workings of the gov't they were foolishly allowed to be in control of.

The Dems have their work cut out for them in 2018. Let's hope they can produce a pile of worthy candidates to run against these wayward Repubs. The unbelievable greed, insanely out of control partisanship and their abject surrender and obedience to their ultra-rich donors is too much for our nation to bear and still survive as a truly representative form of government.

Thank you for expressing your opinion. I am sorry I find it lacking in evidence. You are taking as suppositions on which you base your conclusion for which you present no evidence. You could as easily have said that Mars originating little green Oogaluzis have begun to pulse all the colors of the rainbow. The problem I have with so many people who, unlike myself know so many things, is that what they take as factual does not seem so to me. I believe instead and as an alternate theory of reality, that somewhere somebody or something put those pieces of supposed knowledge in your head. My theory is that the reason that worked on you but didn't affect me was because I lost all of my sacred beliefs and now have nothing egotistically important to me to defend. For example, I would be willing to believe the Obama era FBI was filled with corrupt liberals who are now fleeing, if you could give me real science based evidence instead of what for you amounts to a gut feeling. I have a fall back gut feeling myself, that almost everything anybody believes in without real proof is generally bull shit.

I do appreciate the fact that you think you see an evil that you hope to save me from. However, my father who was a conservative used to say from the time I was small, that the road to hell was paved with good intentions. Now I understand why. The fear of evil and personal damnation makes us see evil everywhere, even where it doesn't exist. Imagine for a moment how crazy I would be if I called you a cockroach when your real intentions are actually good. That would not be fair. Rather than that, I would prefer to sit down with you and talk about facts. I believe I have given you some here. What you do with them is up to you but only if there is some willingness to consider that change can bring about a more realistic mental state rather than some fire and brimstone state. What keeps us locked in place is fear and what we fear happened long ago. There is nothing now to fear but the rear of awakening and remembering the pain that forced us to go to sleep. Everybody did, but not everybody has to stay that way. There isn't anybody who does not feel guilty. You are not alone. We are all the same.

This. Any non positive thing about Trump regardless about how rational or evidence based it is is seen as a sign of democratic corruption. If trumps doctor diagnoses him with cancer or something they'll say that doctor need stop resign because he's a partisan hack for saying something bad about the GOPs leader and trying to undermine the will of the people.

Today's republicans are basically like North Koreans, and I don't see this as hyperbolic. Just listen to brandonbull and tajjy and the like: They are completely gaslighted to the point that they simply do not accept the truth of the world around them anymore.

It's actually kind of terrifying that in an open-information country like this, they have willfully chosen to accept blatant lies as their reality and openly reject simple and obvious truths that make them just a little too uncomfortable. It makes me wonder how difficult it will be for them to return themselves to the First World, like will eventually happen with North Koreans, when their self-anointed god-despot is removed from power.

The alt-right as the imprisoned personality cult of the North Korean population--They truly are the same thing, except that here in the US they choose to be this way. They fucking choose it.

Happy Holidays, assholes!

The FBI thought they could get rid of their hated Clinton enemies and put Trump in power and everything would be gravy from then on. Their plan backfired in hilarious fashion, resulting in the ouster of Comey and now McCabe.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving group of authoritarian conservative douchebags.

Wow... Where do you get your drugs?

The attack on McCabe is based on the fact that his wife ran for office as a Democrat & was financed by a McAuliffe group. Oh, and that he mishandled the investigation into Hillary's buttery males. I mean, he didn't lock her up, did he?

But he was in on a secret FBI conspiracy to elect Trump all along...

You mean the secret conspiracy involving James Comey blatantly shilling for Trump and sending letters to congress days before an election? And commenting incessantly about what a terrible careless person Hillary Clinton was?

James Comey, Director of the FBI, went out of his way to make Hillary seem like the worst human being possible on national television in the midst of her campaign for president. Then, days before the election, he sent a letter to congress (which he knew would be leaked immediately) saying that he was "re-openeing the investigation based on new evidence". He did everything he possibly could, publicly, to get Trump elected.

How was that a secret to you?

It looked pretty obvious to me and pretty much everyone I know.

The FBI screwed up though because they weren't really drinking the MAGA koolaid. They just hated Hillary, but that's not enough. You can't be a true Trump Supporter just by hating Hillary, you must also love Trump. And you must submit to Trump in all things.

This is what McCabe and Comey are learning - They must love Trump. They must submit to Trump.

And today they have not loved Trump enough, so today they must suffer.

It was no secret that most of the FBI hated Hillary. There was practically an internal revolt when Comey announced there would be no charges against her. Many of them wanted to investigate every single internet rumor about her.

Quote the blatant shilling. Good luck with that.

Comey cleared Clinton of criminal wrongdoing in a nationally televised speech. The worst thing he said was that she had been extremely careless on rare occasions. Confronted with potential leaks from the NY office about Weiner's laptop & Huma's emails he sent a letter to Congress who then leaked it to the media. He was covering the Bureau's ass. He promised that he'd notify them if the buttery males investigation was re-opened, and he did in a timely fashion. Had he not done so the information would have been leaked anyway thus discrediting the Bureau.

The attacks against McCabe are just part of an ongoing campaign intended to discredit the FBI & the Special Counsel in advance of their findings wrt Russian meddling. It's also revenge for them jamming up his old pal Manafort & co-opting Flynn.

Quite where it all leads is impossible to say but it's clear that Trump is running scared. Neither his ego nor political reality will allow him to acknowledge that the Russians helped him win. Even w/o collusion he has to deny that it ever happened.

I figure Trump made a fatal mistake the way he dealt with Comey. The web of deceit on which his empire was built never was designed to withstand the scrutiny it now receives. Nobody's is.
