First ever web based e-mail was Hotmail for me, then I switched over to gMail, now I love Hotmail Live Beta, the UI is nice and clean.
Wow, just took a look at some screenshots of Hotmail Live, it looks great! Like OWA, but even lighter and cleaner. Very nice!

Yahoo! Mail is nice, but not enough people e-mail me on it, and it is my favorite.

Hotmail, everybody emails me on it, and therefore my primary account

GMail is not that great.

I don't know about now, but before, when it was only Hotmail and Yahoo!, Yahoo used to count their mbs in .00s and hotmail used to count pretty much every message

Also, the new hotmail interface is too much like outlook's, and I don't like that.

Don't want Gmail. I like my Yahoo account just for internet purchasing and free stuff.

So you've probably never tried gmail and just voted yahoo because its the only one you use, or have ever used.

Makes sense
Hey guess what, some of us don't like GMail's interface. Deal with it.

As opposed to what interface? Yahoo's?

*Shoots self in head*

Gmail - shortcuts are awesome... just hit "r" for a reply or "c" to compose, etc. It is also really quick with navigating around. Downside is Opera is still a little screwy with it at times.

Hotmail - good backup... always reliable... minimal/controlled spam... but slow in comparison.

Yahoo - spam haven... and slow in comparison

The good thing about both Hotmail and Yahoo is that they're both going to change to the Gmail interface.. shortcuts and drag&drops too. But Gmail is clearly the best right now.

These new interfaces don't play well with Opera though (nor FF)... I had to revert back to the old Hotmail. The browser of my choice is more important. They should get in gear.

I use emails from one of my hosting accounts. I can decide how much space I want to use. I can create as many throw away email addresses as I want (in about 30 sec).
One of my humble domains is a lot less likely to be pelted by random spam than anything @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, or @hotmail.com.

I loved ziplip.com's free email back when they offered it.

Love my Yahoo too, it's a 2 gig account they upgraded me for no reason.

rossman, you got any easy to install, discussion list software links? (something like mail man, but where installing the software actually makes sense?)

signed up for netfirms, but sadly, no discussion list option.

1) Nope.

2) You get what you pay for.

I have Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. Out of the three I like Yahoo the best. Don't know why. I don't think much of Gmails interface, though it is ok.
