lol, that probably is my most-repeated game sound.

WC2 was always a PITA to install on my system back then. It would always lock up because default IRQ for the sound and graphics was always fucked, so you had to manually adjust them in the install.

Uggh... do I?

I don't think we appreciate plug and play and USB as much as we should. I just plug in a game controller, mouse, soundcard, etc. and it fucking installs itself and is ready to work in seconds. I don't need to install the drivers and restart, I don't need to put settings in my config.sys or autoexec.bat, I don't need to juggle IRQs and DMAs, etc.

I can still vaguely remember the wrangles I had to free up enough conventional memory to get all the features of a game. Gotta load dos into high memory, need to use emm386...
