Heh, the old game I used to play often on the ol' 286 (only had DOS :( ... Win 3.11 requires at least a 386 :p) was School Mom :p. Man, I was real good at that game.

Wing Commander would play too fast if you had a fast 486, though.

You needed to turn off the turbo mode on your PC.

Actually, you needed to turn ON turbo mode to slow down your computer so it could play those games. That was one of the most inappropriate name for anything ever i think.

Leisure Suit Larry owned. I remember spending up to an hr trying to answer the adult questions (lol questions like the Beetles band members, etc) so i could play the game in adult mode.

i didn't get into gaming until the 486 and there were tons of great games back then.

Sierra/Dynamix was the king back then.

Betrayal at Krondor and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father and the original C&C were probably my favorite games back then.

The Amiga had great games as well. I remember Another World as mind blowing.

First game that scared the shite out of me though was Alone in the Dark.

surprised I didn't see this great classic listed...

Warlords II

I spent hours upon hours beating this game on every map. An old turn based strategy game.

Also, Kings Quest 6 was the first one of that series I played(and the best one to me).

Lemmings

When did the first Dune come out? Absolutely loved that game.

Day of the Tentacle!!!!! And I played Monkey Island (as well as King Quest VI and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis) on my 386SX @33MHz, so it didn't require a 486. Monkey Island II was a little heftier in requirements though.
