I am going to be one of the few to say it, but Metallica, not because of their postitions. The older music is the best, but the new stuff is alright in a different sort of way. But their are two other bands that I think are really good and have chances in thier future to remove metallica from its spot, they are: Linkin Park and Disturbed

All you Rush/Tool lovers, check out Queensryche. I prefer Operation Mindcrime or newer, nut some of their early stuff was great too.

Queensryche kicks ass! Operation Mindcrime is just awesome! As well as Rage for Order, Empire, Promised Land... it's all good! 🙂 Can Geoff Tate sing or what? He has to have the most incredible vocal range in rock music.

My second favorite is the Police, followed closely by Peter Gabriel (post Genesis, of course). But I do have to say I've been listening quite a bit of Tool lately, great stuff.
