NIRVANA is my first favorite, and TOOL is my second favorite,or first if your only counting bands still making music.

Squirrel Nut Zippers
The Andrew Sisters, et al.
Louie Armstrong
still into Alannis when irritated
anything with a heavy beat
once in awhile classical

Because Rush has been recording since about 1972, they have a wide variety.
2112 is a great conceptual album.
Counterparts was a stab at grunge.
Power Windows and Hold Your Fire are good '80s synth with great guitars/drums.
Self titled (often referred to as "Explosion&quot😉 is a good Led Zepplin-esqe album.
Or try "Chronicles" for a great variety of all their hits up to 1989.
Rush has three of the best rock musicians ever. Worth a listen.

hhhmmm the favorite band is a hard one but i would have to say Sisters of Mercy and Rush but many others such as Front 242 and Pigface

Well that would have to be either Guster or Vertical Horizon. All 3 of Guster's albums are quality, and Vertical Horizon's works before "Everything You Want" are great.

Tool

Without question.

Think for yourself. Question Authority. Throughout human history, as our species has faced; the frightening, terroritzing fact that we do not know who we are or where we're going in this ocean of chaos. It has been the authorities--the political, the religious, the educaitonal--authorities, who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations. Informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable open mindedness, chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. Think for yourself. Question Authority. --Timothy Leary
