<< Actually, in California, going over 100mph is regarded as reckless driving and they can actually arrest you and take you into jail. In California, you will only get a ticket for possession of certain drugs. So, your point is moot. >>

Poor examples since you are talking about extremes of both ends. Besides in reality, CHP almost never send people to jail for driving 100+. They just write you a bigger ticket. Law enforcement almost always regards drug possession and use as a far more serious violation than speeding. Ask any police officer yourself. You pretty much answered your own question, it's a question of severity.

We need to put this all in perspective now. This thread seems to be comprised mostly of people who have stated they have driven over 100mph. The SIG file that the Moderator of this formum decided to comment on belonged to Stonythug - who simply proclaimed positivity towards marijuana. No where did he say that he was smoking 10pounds of it at a time or that he had a greenhouse in his house full of hydroponic units or that he was dealing it or that he had killed anyone while using it, transporting it or that he was above the law. Therefore, he was not in the extreme - yet was warned that he may be banned.

Yet everyone who has gone above their state's posted speed limit has admitted guilt of speeding - a very illegal act, moreso than proclaiming their affection for illicit substances.

I think the mods should lock all threads involving minors stating anything to do with alcohol or smoking since minors using either is illegal.

What it comes down to is the inconsistency of logic and reason of the moderator of this particular forum. If we are going to allow banter concerning such illegal acts as infringing upon copyrighted material (ie: Napster, Gnutella, Freenet and the like), then the moderator must allow for other questionably legal things such as discussion of illegal drugs. I know this is not High Time Forum, but they seem to block links to warez sites. Is Napster more accepted because more people use it?

I find it highly unfortunate that the moderator of this forum lacks the logic and intelligence to be consistent and fair in their perspective and especially, their actions.

What it boils down to is this: if you are going to let someone talk about one illegal thing freely, then they should allow someone else to talk another illegal thing freely. But, I susptect that their personal perspective may have gotten in the way when they went around using their power. If they were simply enforcing the rules of this forum, then the rules of this forum are illogical and must be rethought to be more consistent.

How much more amatuer can you get?

heh, don't rant about it to me. I just gave my rationale behind the situation, and I think it's a halfway decent explanation. But I can't do jack about the situation. Maybe you should post in forum issues. I will say though, most things aren't consistent in the real world, very much including laws.

I was riding my own bike. A Cagiva Mito 250. Was going 125mph on the highway. Man, I felt like floating. I tell yea, it was really fast.

Did a 110mph in England with a friend's Opel Calibra. That felt like 70mph to me.

Around 150 in a rented Mercedes in Germany, slowed down to 110 when it rained, didn't need the windshield wipers at all! You gotta love the autobahn.

Before I knew it I was driving with my knee and sh*t like that. But once again the autobahn is built for speed and safety.

130 mph in my old '90 Mirage...also did 45mph while the car was stuck in 1st gear (fudged up tranny). 95+ in my parents 93' Ford Explorer while they were in the car, on the I-10 in Arizona going towards Tucson. 90 in my '88 Ford Taurus on a road with way to many hills (going uphill).

Needless to say, "Exaggeration" is the word of the day!

However, I will point out that bragging about such a thing is foolish, and doing such a thing is a perfect example of being irresponsible. And for those who like to combine drugs or alcholol with high speed, you lower the bar of ignorance even further.

I would suggest that you guys pay a visit to your local Morgue, or maybe talk to a few people that have lost innocent members of their family because of morons like you. I can only hope the only person you hurt is yourself.

While youth is often used as an excuse for such stupidity, it is not acceptable. Furthermore, stupid young people often grow up to be stupid adults, and then what will your excuse be?

What a waste of air and space!

This isn't impressive... But I got a ticket once driving on I85 through Greensboro from a Sherrif... He said he clocked me going 87 but since I was from out of town, he kicked it down so I would lose my license...

I had just got off 2nd shift at the factory and was driving to Oxford, NC to spend the wkend with my Pop... I think the cop noticed that I was not quite awake and felt sorry for me...

Lucky, eh??

silly speed regulator blocks me from exceeding 112 ...

however ... I've driven from DeKalb Il to Wheeling IL (aprox 70 miles) in aprox 45 minutes .... and thats counting 3 toll booths and no tickets (i was averaging between 105 and 112 the whole time ... until i got off of the expressway ... then i had to go 50 or so on the local roads ... btw ... it was at around 3am ...)

Please note where I was doing 188... no laws broken, safe environment (comparatively).

I do agree though, over 120mph on highway (regardless of traffic, conditions, or road quality) is stupid. I very seldom go over 80 on the interstate, it's just not valid risk.

Don't whine about your speed regulator. I didn't like the one in my '95 T-Bird so I purchased a Superchip that plugs into the cars computer chip. Vroooooooooom! They are made for many different cars and mine cost me about $200 last fall.
