Highest I've gotten is about 95. I was too scared to go any higher because I was driving a SUV.

~115 mph on I-5 (Arizona-California highway, which is pretty straight for miles in Arizona part of it) :)
Too bad my Chevy Monte Carlo Z34 has a speed governour, which cuts off fuel after 115 mph limit (probably people in GM dont' think anyone should drive that fast on 60mph roads). I just wanted to see how fast it can go :p

Got pulled over for doing 112.5 in a 50 (canada: 180 in an 80)

That was scary. The getting pulled over part. Not the fast part.

Officer was impressed with me. I was 17.

140 on some back roads in Oklahoma in a 2000 BMW 328i. These were the same roads that I got a speeding ticket for going 75 in a 40 zone - cost me $180.

118 in my mother's Nissan Maxima SE (d@mn speed limiter).
~115 in my 1988 Accord LX-i, ran out of road.
85 in my dad's 1998 Ford Explorer while towing an 18 ft boat while following a friend to her family's cottage and swearing at her to slow down.

Scariest of all was in the Explorer because I knew that I had, for all intents and purposes, no brakes, but I couldn't fall too far behind the person I was following or I'd have been lost.

Monte Carlo Z34 is electronically governed to 110mph, Andrey. You are FULL of it. 165?! That's impossible in a car that has 200hp and weighs 3509lbs.

I once took a 45 mile trip in 14 minutes ..... so it wasn't that I was goooing too fast. It's that I maintained it. My worst experience speeding was rollercoaster. that's a game that I used to play in hich school where I would strap myself onto the bed of my friends pickup using bungee cords and have them go 120+... Leaves cut into u at that speed.

I did 117 mph for about 2-3 minutes in my '97 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5L 4 cyl. engine coming back from Tahoe - and it was at night! I was wide awake though - my 2 12" JL's were shaking my whole car....then it stated REALLY shacking, and it was around the wheels...not from the bass...so I laid off the accelerator. I did it all downhill though, coming back from Tahoe. It was fun :)

Then I did 121 MPH in a '91 Honda accord about 2 weeks ago, I think it was on 580 coming from Stockton area to San Ramon area here in CA. My car started making weird noises, so I laid off. I only went that fast for about 30 seconds.

In San Diego, last spring break, I went to visit some friends and we raced a lot on the freeway. We hit 130 all the time, I think we even hit 140 once - no problem at all in a '91 Mustang V8. That thing kicked ass, I am still waiting to go there again and try it some more :)

I did 110 in a '90 Mazda MPV - I messed up that van so much, me and my bro....we had to fork it over to the tax write off people. It was our first car. We shard it for about 1 1/2 years...it was long enough for it to require a new box (bumps all over from hitting various objects), and new transmission 3 times. Damn automatics suck :(

So my next car is gonna be a Nissan 300ZX, prolly like a '93 or '94, and I'm gonna do 140 in that baby all the time if I'm out late :)

Whoever it was that did 115 down the san mateo bridge...you are crazy! Those lanes are about big enough to be bike lanes! I feel scared as hell going over 75 on that bridge.

I did like 130 when the speed regulator kicked in... i was making a wide turn on the freeway without, powerstiring and power break... trying to stay in the lane at 130 on one hand while trying to re start the car before i hit the red light in about 1/2 mile.. rush....

This is kind of funny to me. Anyone who talks positively about drugs - say in their sig file, is chastized by the moderators. BUT, if we talk about speeding - another topic which is illegal (especially above 100mph which many of you have attested to), the moderator does not care and the topic continues without inicident.

At this point, we must decide what made the admin NOT decide to lock this thread even though the act of speeding is illegal. Did the admin choose not to lock the thread because of society's view points on speeding - which basically accepts it? Or did they choose to give someone a hard time about their sig file which contained references to marijuana because society as a whole does NOT accept the recreational usage of drugs - which is illegal as well.

What if I had made a post regarding how many bowls someone has smoked in one sitting? Would that be locked?

Where is the consistency in the logic and philosophy of the moderator of this forum? Both acts are illegal and cause injuries to people in theory.

Or are we going to draw lines based upon how illegal something is? If it's a felony or misdemeanor, you cannot post it - but if it is merely an infraction, post away..?

I must be smoking crack.. because I don't get it. A logical explanation based upon reason and rational thought would be highly appreciated.

Well it wasn't a car but .... when I was a lot younger a LOT dumber, I did 140 on my 750 Ninja once. It was a beautiful stretch of highway that I knew like to back of my hand; straight, flat, no potholes in the pavement, and miles of visibility (after all, you gotta look out for the fuzz when you're doing dumb stunts like this). It was sort of a spontaneous decision; I just opened up the throttle and downshifted.

Now, I would routinely do 110-120 when I'd go for rides thru the mountains, but let me tell you, there is a big difference between 120 and 140. The wind pushes your head and chest back like it's trying to knock you off the bike. The bike starts to rattle, and you don't feel like you're in control. What an epinephrine rush. I only did it for about 10 seconds before I got scared and backed it down to a much more comfortable 100mph.

The motorcycle magazines rated the bike at 155mph. After doing 140, I can't even imagine what 155 would feel like. Scary.

These speeds are with my (now totaled by me) '88 black Honda Accord

110mph north on US 75. My car was shaking so much it scared me to push it any farther.

90mph on a residential road (if anyone knows, west on Spring Creek in Plano).
