That would be a mod, and there aren't any out yet, since the SDK hasn't been released.

I run it at 1280x1024 4xAA 8xAF all game launcher settings set to high. I really liked the sound, and the physics. The graphics are ok, I wouldn't say their fantastic or anything, UT2k3 still feels more natural. A great game though! And now I have a reason to play it again!

Where is the cheapest place to pick this game up?

GoGamer has it for $48 shipped.

I know about that CC (or was it bestbuy) deal, but I dont have either of those near my place...

I was surprised how well it ran on my pc 1.6a @ 2.4 w/ GF2. I thought it would run like crap but with everything turned on at 800x600 runs pretty smooth.

A 'tell tale' sign of well written/efficiant code imho

indeed. none of that halo crap where I'd get 10 fps at 800x600 with specular off.

i love this game. it's beautiful and amazing. It's dark and scary, just the way Rockstar games should be.

what settings do you run the game on?

I have it set to high with 8x AA and it's great. 2.2ghz barton & 9700pro

i want to play it on my friends rig .. 1.4ghz P4 & GeForce2

great game!

I was running down some stairs in MP2 and saw a cleaner guy, accidently threw a grenade at him instead of blasting him. The grenade hit him right in the head, his head went back and he kinda threw his arms back so he couldn't shoot. LOL, talk about realistic!

agreed this game pretty well written...halo was a port of xbox game, so the original engine was written for very specific and controlled hardware. i'm guessing maybe its slower in order to maintain dx9 compatibility etc.

i get about 90-150fps at 1024 with 4xfsaa...prettty sweet. i take a perf hit at 1280...min fps drops to around 30-40 in some cases so i'll stick with 1024 for now

The shadowing, the reflections, the bright in-your-face textures from the graffiti on the walls to the grain of wood, the effects during Max's dreams, to the pink flamingo fun house.

Im hoping they'll make a huge add-on to the game, if they can. For heaven sakes do something more with that Havoc engine. They all ready did enough, but more more more!

The only thing I don't like is the inability to shoot out the lights. That sorta shows they cheated a little, but that's such a little compromise they made for gaming performance.

1024x768x32 all setting on, including AA and AF (enabled through Max Payne's configuration not the nvidia control panel) and its smooth as could be. This is considering that turning on AF on Geforce 4 or earlier cuts performance in half or worse. They textures and facial maps are great, maybe it doesn't have all of Halo's effects, but it sure is about 5 times faster, literally. Highly recommended.

So far on this ol' Geforce 3 everything is enabled besides for aa/antialiasing, low shadows, flares, mirrors, and pixel shader skins. So far everything runs well!

But does anybody have pictures with EVERYTHING on, including pixel shader skins? I wonder what that looks like.

I don't think it matters, comparing things like his jacket and the walls would suffice!

-screenshot: Enables the F10 key for taking screen shots. Screen shots are saved to the "screenshots" folder under your Max Payne 2 installation folder.

Command line options can be enabled by adding them to the Max Payne 2 shortcut. Right click on the Max Payne 2 desktop shortcut, select Properties, then add the desired command line to the Target field after the executable. For example, "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 2\MaxPayne2.exe" -screenshot

What you see will be different depending on what kind of card you have. Reflective mirrors, for example, supposedly only work on PS2.0 cards.

I saw reflections with my Radeon 7500 when I was playing ( Just bought my 9600pro yesterday) Having a dx 9/0 card though makes a difference, it's such a beautiful looking game. One of my all time favorite games

I had no idea this was coming out till I saw a comercial this weekend. Guess I have been paying too much attention to HL2 and Doom 3. Looks like I have to make a trip to BB tomorrow.
