Totally cool things:

- Walked into a door, the door flies open knocking down any enemies behind it
- Turning the televisions off and on and watching peoples responses :)
- The little items stashed on top of high shelves that can only be gotten by knocking over boxes or shooting them off
- The fact that you can open the van doors and get inside, attention to environment activity
- The explosive scenes, where walls and cielings fall
- The insane dream sequence effects
- Mona

The thing that I think would have been cool, would be a kick button. So that you could kick doors or kick over furniture / etc. Oh yea, I hope they use this engine to make a lot more content!

I tried playing the game in higher resolutions other than 1024 x768, but I couldn't see a difference.

So Im currently playing it 1024 x 768 x 32, High Everything, including sound, with 4AA/4AF .

Woot!

For those that like this game, did you like the first one?

I thought it was pretty much an embarassment to bipeds, I use it as a baseline when gauging how bad something is(gameplay, level design, story in particular- I felt bad for the guys who made it actually). If this is a better version of the first I will without a doubt pass, if there is someone that loathed the first one I'd be interested in what they had to say though.

I thought the first one was a little repetitive, I also hated those little side missions in Max's dreams. Dying in a dream, wth is that all about? It also didn't help any that I played the original max Payne on a Intel 700Mhz celeron with Intel Extreme Graphics.

2nd one is so much better in those regards, a lot going on in its compact environment. Plus, No more of those outrageous dream worlds, jumping on what only could be explained as floating stepping stones without falling to get to the end of the level. The dream levels are still there in MP2, however instead of killing the game, they actually put a lot of flavor into it.

The havoc game engine also does justice for the bullet time. The one thing that gives the game character comes out 10x better with the new graphic engine.

I liked the first one, though it definately had it's weak points.

MP2 is alot better though, as some have said, MaxFX 2(or whatever it's called) and Havoc does some of the effects more justice, bullet time being the prime example, environments are similar to MP1 but better, and the storyline is a big improvement as well.

All in all, I think it's a very good game.

1) Dead bodies with flopping limbs rolling down stairs and coming to rest in strange and realistic ways after being plugged full of holes
2) Sound effects
3) Crashing into a room with a stryker and opening up on 6 bad guys in bullet time but saving the last bad guy to do a bullet time spin and but him in the head with the stock as a finnishing move... lol this game is so cool.
4) Bad guys conversations before getting killed :)
5) Game Art and slum hotels/fun house.... developers paid much attention to detail and quality

Man, after playing the game over twice, you really see how short the game is. The first go around your are captivated by the story and dream sequences, but as far as the real action between those scenes, it's just a shock.

If they would of added one more chapter...just one more!

I would also would of liked them to incorporate some stuff from other games into the engine. Like silenced rifles, espionage type levels (without alerting surveillance systems, guards, ect..), or something to that affect.

I'm not saying every game should be like Splinter Cell. MP2 in it's own right is just a shoot'em up which it's successful at, but variety like that intertwined with those chapters could defiantly could of made the gameplay more challenging and less flat.

actually im glad they didnt put a espionage level in the game where you cant alert people. Those boards mixed in with a fast paced game like this suck!!! They are a big turn off to some who cant beat them making them stop playing the game.
