I read that. It just doesn't have the same impact as watching it play out before your eyes.

It would be like the Deadwood writers releasing a statement after 10 years saying "Seth married Alma, and then he and Al joined forces to kill George Hearst, and had Wu feed them to his pigs. Charlie Utter and E.B. married".

Yes you are right ARK is there but as a personal opinion, I'd love to see Farcry shooting in ARK style.
