Glad to see the new NVIDIA beta drivers improve performance significantly. I hope to post some performance impressions tonight once i get it up and running on my N670 PE.

And the 7970 is 34% faster then the 680 in AVP, what's your point? Cherry picking 4 games hardly tells you anything. 10+ of the latest games is another story.

Damn this game is punishing on GPU's! 2560x1440 is going to require some sacrifices for my oc'd gtx670 to get consistently smooth frame rates.

Wow, picking up several years old game. :hmm:

AC3 is TWIMTBP, Hitman and FC3 are Gaming Evolved 2012 titles. According Computerbase.de they are runing faster on Nvidia. It's show how AMD program failed. As for Black Ops II it's nothing new how games without TWIMTBP or GE running faster on Nvidia.

On topic, hard when overclocked HD7970 running tie with stock GTX680. 😀

It's Assassin's Creed DX 10.1 all over again, only with reversed roles of NV/AMD.

But I can't be mad for long, because contrary to predictably mediocre games from Gaming Evolved,
FAR CRY 3 IS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!

The 5870 is nipping at the 580 without AA. Pretty good showing. Honestly with a 3 year old card, AA in a lot of new games will be out of the question
 
Another game where CF scaling for 6 series is almost non-existent, sadly I think it's time to retire my QUAD CF. If you want to be on the bleeding edge you have to pay top dollars because you are forgotten as soon as something better comes along. It's a sad state of affairs because I would still be content with the performance of my old cards if they scaled properly, sadly not even 6990 scales, not to mention 3-way and 4-way set-ups. It's as if AMD showed me their finger.

In contrast GTX590 performs as it should. Still, quad SLI could be as broken as Quad Fire is in that game and sadly no site will check that.

Pcgameshardware.de said they disabled it in their test due to it causing crashes though, so perhaps the implementation wasn't solid

According to some posts I saw over at guru3d, you can still enable it in the config file
 
Downloading the game now. Hopefully we will get a performance increase driver from AMD soon, as I'm not completely happy about the 7950's performance judging by those benchmarks.

yeah there are additional performance optimizations for farcry 3 in upcoming drivers. confirmed by AMD rep on overclock.net. :thumbsup:
 
At this point the game is out worldwide except for the US (i guess UK technically doesn't get it for a few more hours).
But, if you've preloaded the game on Steam stateside you could be playing today......
