For my first playthrough I hardly used power armor, so for my second I tried using it at every opportunity. I did run short of Fusion Cores for a very short while around level 10 or so, but for the most part I found them faster than I used them. At fairly high levels (50+?) Fusion Cores start spawning in ammunition containers, presumably to feed Gatling Lasers if you want to use them, and it becomes a complete non issue.

Obviously some modder needs to invent the corpsapult.

So what does work for removing those pesky rotting ghoul corpses... if you're on the PC anyway... enter console mode, target the corpse (you will see an ID appear at the top center of the console window), type "disable" and hit enter. Poof.

Power armor is mo debinitely a thing, and if you mod the legs you can carry considerably more stuff. Also, you can provide light conventional armor to a companion, put them in a frame without armor, and they can carry more stuff. Doesn't seem to affect stealth either, such as Bethesda does stealth. Although your movement rate sucks in power armor, companions seem to be able to keep up with you if they are in it, and all they need is a fusion core with 1% and they are good forever. Two caveats here - I haven't checked to see if companions can carry the same in an empty frame versus a fully equipped frame, and if you give them any armor pieces they will wear out and when you have to wear the frame to stomp over to the repair rack, you will use 1% of a fusion core.

Companions don't need a fusion core to use a power frame. Just tell them to enter a frame and they'll do it, regardless if it's powered with a fusion core or not. Also, if you want to steal a frame easily, just steal the fusion core out then move to a place where you can hide and while you're hidden, tell the companion to enter the frame. Your hidden status is what counts towards a companion's stealing detection. If you're in "detected" status, when your companion enters a stolen frame, everyone around turns hostile (as if you did it and were caught).

Tinker Tom keeps asking you to put up those stupid MILAs. But he doesnt bug you constantly about it. So theres that.

I found these missions fun as they are kinda hard to find the exact spot that he wants you to put the MILA. So, you get to explore part of the area that you may not have otherwise. Especially, high, roof top areas.

I am on Level 85 now - have not used Power armor at all ( purposely trying not to)- other than the one mission that requires you to use it at the very beginning of the game. I may have to but so far have gotten into and out of the Institute without requiring it. So , hopefully, I will complete the game without using any power armor what so ever. Just a personal challenge for me.

I figure if the settlers are too damn lazy to bury the corpses, they deserve to live with them.

Interesting. But I already have tons of frames.

Something else weird - I wiped out a raider's nest along the west side of the map where one of the raiders has power armor. After I went in to loot, I found three full sets of raider power armor - all owned, even though I had wiped out every raider - just standing there. I shuttled them all home to Sanctuary Hills - if nothing else to keep them out of raiders' hands - but whenever I get in or remove a core, Preston and Nick dislike it, as though I'm stealing it. Flash back to Bethesda's weird sense of morals - you can blow them into little giblets, but don't take the stuff they took from other people!

I tried moving dead ghouls at one settlement and they didn't stay put.

But over at
Covenant
, all the corpses of humans that I threw into a ditch are still there. Their belongings keep respawning on their body unequipped though.

While in console, click on the PA and use the command "setownership". This will reset the ownership of the object so anyone can use it without "stealing" it.
I used this a lot after wiping out Covenant, so I could use beds, open safes w/o making an enemy out of Deezer, etc.

Yeah same here, but I think it is specific to the object, not the class. For example there is a dead human raider over on the road to Sanctuary that I also can't get rid of by dragging.

TIL: After repeatedly doing the Brotherhood of Steel quests Cleansing the Commonwealth and Quartermastery enough to gain 6 levels thinking that I needed to raise my faction-score to continue the storyline for the BoS, I realized that the only way to progress is through the main story rather instead... There are no faction scores, it's just story related!

After frustration of not being able to continue the BoS storyline, I eventually reached Diamond City. What did I do? First thing was I accidentally made enemies of the entire city because as soon as I entered the city, some random NPC was red to me and kept shooting at me so I put him down and the entire city came at me all red. I ran away to some high point along some rafters, loaded up my fat man and proceeded to launch a few nukes and wiped the place. There were only a few NPCs who survived but they weren't red to me or they were inside buildings when the massacre happened so I guess they didn't know I was the killer.

Not sure if I should continue on as-is or I should reload a previous save game. Not sure why the NPC was red to me and why defending myself made everyone else angry, it could be a stray bullet because I try not to go into VATS as much as possible.

I would try to load a save from before entering Diamond City.
Not sure why there was a red npc, but there is a scripted event that is suppose to happen when you enter, and one npc will be hostile, but I believe you stay out of it the 2nd npc will kill the first

I would not attack anyone with explosive bullets as the splash damage could cause friendly to go hostile

I ran into this a couple of times before I realised it was my explosive rounds in settlement defense missions causing grief. Which sucks because it's hands down the best weapon I have.

On another note about explosive weapons, how come we can light gas pools with regular bullets but we can't with explosive rounds. *mind blown*

Yeah, thanks. I'm aware of that, just haven't been able to muster a care. lol

I just make a very wide detour around Covenant, although I did wipe out their secret torture base. (Gitmo North?) Way I see it, those people have been victimized, and while I (and Nick) hate the way they reacted, I don't want to kill them for it. Maybe eventually I'll use a console cheat to make them neutral.

I got that Raider too. Right across the bridge. I think there's a molerat beside it or some other animal.

P.S. Haven't played in over a week. Waiting for the patch. Where is the DLC, anyway? I saw a season pass available.

Hazmat suit is the easiest way to deal with them if you ever get surprised. If you plan on fighting them, I recommend combat armor with lead, all 6 pieces. And plenty of chems of course.

Hazmat is what I used clearing the settlement with them. Took me a minute to realize why I was going down like a 2 dollar whore. 0 defense to radiation in my normal gear. That and sniping, their shots have travel time which is enough to shoot and duck behind cover. Think I also hit them with a nuke or canon barrage.

I went back to Covenant to inform them that I had shut down their vile operation and they needed to be on their best behavior. They must have already heard about it, because they instantly attacked me. I left their dismembered, naked corpses in front of the Covenant gate as a warning to all.

It's a feral hound, but yeah. I don't mind them being there, because every time I walk by I get a free drifter outfit and tire iron, LOL.

:D If you go in without lead lined PA it is a chore. Those gamma guns are a PITA.

Reloaded like 30 times... but it was the best fun I had the entire game. The hardest part of those guns is that they screw up your view and it's hard to shoot back cause you're semi-blinded. Love going back there to mine weapons for my settlers...

LoL--I did the same thing. Though, I attacked them after revealing that I had murdered everyone in their gimp sewer. Well, or they attacked me immediately after--it was months ago and I forget that convo. Anyway, my initial plan was to murder them all, anyway, so it worked out.

I should have stacked their naked corpses out back, but I dragged each one to the backyard of my new Covenent House, just next to the steel dinette set. Was waiting for a "Real bonfires" mod or somesuch to deal with it later.

The warning is great, though. I guess my plan was to use this already-postage-stamp-town to be my new mini fiefdom, behind concrete.

Wooosh... I started the game up today and noticed some of the features talked about in the new patch. Wasn't aware that the patch already came out, officially, not the beta.

Going to have to run through Boston to see how it performs compared to before.
