I keep taking out raiders wearing power armour. I can take all the appendages off them but how do I rescue the frame itself to claim the armour as mine? Popping in a fusion core didn't seem to do it...

I sneak to the raider and steal their fusion core. It forces them out of the frame. That's how I do it.

I know one can also target the fusion core in VATS, so maybe destroying it also forces the user out of the frame? I have never tried it though, I'll do it next time I meet an enemy in a PA 🙂

How does one go about farming certain legendary weapons and armor?

The game saves before and after you enter a location. Legendary enemies are spawned upon entering a location. Their item type is determined at the time they spawn. The item's legendary power is selected afterwards.

On the very few occasions I did some "farming" (twice, a gamma gun and a gauss rifle and just because the legendary mobs took 10s to kill after reload ), I did it like this:
1) noticed a legendary enemy spawned just after I entered a location (I get two saves - before and after entering)
2) I kill the enemy, see if they have the item type I like
3) if yes, I check if the legendary power is the one I want
4) wrong legendary power - I reload the autosave after I enter the location (mobs are spawned the same way, their items too, legendary powers are rerolled - this is only true for the automatic save after entering a location)
5) if the item is not of the type I'm looking for, I load the save before I enter the location and repeat

The problem is, legendary mobs only have a chance to spawn. So sometimes you'll need to reload your "before entering" save multiple times to get the legendary to spawn again after entering again (and then hope for the item you want). Once you get your item type to roll, just keep reloading the save after you entered to reroll and get the legendary power on it you want.

I got lucky with the gauss rifle... it spawned on a mob that was there just after I entered a location (took me literally 10s each "after entering" reload to kill the mob). It still took me like 30-40 reloads to roll a two-shot power on the gauss rifle. The gun is totally OP 🙂 It's fun to use though.

Honestly, unless it's a really quick reload situation, I wouldn't bother and just play the game. If you want a nice legendary gauss rifle, Ronnie Shaw in The Castle sells one (The Last Minute - 50% more limb damage) after you play the Minuteman storyline a bit (after she opens the armory for you and you can start building artillery in your settlements).

Also, I need more concrete 🙁 I keep using it so much when building stuff - it's so much fun :awe: The wooden floors with the concrete block under them are so much fun to use 🙂

For a settlement guide, you can look at this,
https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3vv1te/psa_how_to_make_functional_settlements/

But basically to get happiness up to 80% is easy.

For beds, they can be sleeping bags for all they care, as log as there is a roof over their head. I cant find it now, but there is a youtube video that a guy got 100% at the Red Rocket Gas station just outside of Sanctuary

Basically he had alot of sleeping bags under the roof where the gas pumps where.
Spammed Clinics (pretty sure it level 3 clinic) assigned settles to man them
Then he had started the video at 99% and then spammed the small welcome mat rugs and then it increased to 100%

Or another way for 100% Happeness (https://m.reddit.com/r/falloutsettl...out_4_benevolent_leader_trophy_fast_and_easy/)

Also I do not believe you really need more than 80% happiness, except for maybe the achievement

For legendary farming, there is a few locations that will automatically spawn a legendary enemy

I've seen it days ago but it is still pretty funny\sad, so I thought I'd share in case anyone hasn't noticed.

Make sure to visit Suffolk County charter school, it is to the far southeast near Quincy Ruins I think.
The place is full of...pink ghouls. I'll leave it to others to find out why.

You cant. 🙂

You can only get a new power armour by finding it empty, or buying a frame at a vendor.

I have a childhood friend that's down and out lately, broke, etc. He's got a decent rig that his mom and I built for him, but we bought a pretty weak ATI gpu w 1gbram just to get it up and running and stay within budget. Wanted to focus on CPU/RAM and core stuff knowing we could always swap the gpu. He's had it for about a year, and was crazy about Fallout3. He does a lot of modding and stuff (known user on nexus).

I decided to surprise him and bought him a FO4 edition eVGA GTX970 4GB.

He was pretty excited. =) He could barely play FO4 with his gpu, and once we got it installed and he was able to max the game out, he couldn't stop smiling. Not only did it play it well, he couldn't get it to stutter which blew his mind.

Others have stated you can sneak up and steal the fusion core out of the enemy PA and this will force the enemy out of the suit and therefor can be taken for yourself.

Putting a smile on someone's face is one of the most rewarding things one can do. Good on you.

Well well well...now I know who gotz the moneys. 🙂 Very nice to hear that. I think I will likely gift that to myself this season. My 770 is starting to stutter a lot with BF4 and Fo4. So if you know another kid willing to get a 770 donated to them by January - let me know.

think you'll need to put points into the Pickpocket perk in order to pull this off

Cool. I wonder if I could take it if I get behind the NPC in combat.

Kudos to you, that's a hell of a gift. And yes, maxed out Fallout 4 is very pretty, especially outdoors.

Yep. He had been trying to play FO4 a weak 1GB card while also trying to capture to vid what he was doing. It was unplayable. He just sent me a text saying he can capture vid with shadowplay with hardly any fps loss and he's just beside himself with joy. I really only wanted to spend like $200, but anything in that range wasn't much of an upgrade. Just 1gb more vram and a bit faster. But nothing game changing.

So I was in Diamond City taking care of some business when suddenly a Triggerman started taking shots at me. I have no idea who they are or what quests set them off, but I didnt want to attack back just in case this was some kind of bug. So I tried to get Diamond City Security involved by walking near them and they wouldn't attack back. So I tried to lure the Triggerman so while shooting me he would also hit the security guard, but all the guard would say is "I don't see anything."

Comical. Kinda.

I have a bunch of useless Legendary weapons. A rolling pin, walking cane, pool cue with whopping 25% extra damage, ghoul slayer gamma gun.

Can't stand that song. The only ones i can tolerate is the Atom Bomb Baby song and the The Wanderer song. Guess I'm just not that into old music.

I had to go online and look up all the 1930's cultural references in the song "Anything Goes" to figure out what most of those current event jokes meant.

That is genius. Completely forgot about that because I think there's a tip about it in the load screen.

Probably still not going to do it though because I have like 15 power armor suits parked in Sanctuary right now.

BTW, I just opened up Bunker hill and started building a very large 3 story structure and noticed my settlement size was nearing full. Well, fuck, my building was only half done at best, and that was just the shell. Minimal power/defense so far.

Found a neat bug to bypass this limit, and it works on PC and consoles.

When the bar is near full drop weapons on the ground. Store weapons in workshop from the workshop interface. It treats these as removing an building item from the settlement and take a tick off the bar/weapon stored. Continue building, repeat as needed.

Apparently this doesn't really impact performance even on consoles. Build away!

There's a mod to remove this limit on PCs, but it's better to abuse this bug than install a mod, imo.
