Let me get this straight.
A working married couple in their 70's have a nest egg appropriate for a college professor and public servant so someone is trying to paint them as 1%ers?
Do people not know what retirement plans are, how they work and what they are supposed to take care of?

you are talking to a trumper who woudlnt be able to make 70k a year in the new economy. Of course bernie is evil.

How so? Does a socialist need 3 houses? I think you missed my point.

Bernie would have advocated for higher taxes for the top. That doesn't mean they wouldn't have enough to buy multiple houses. Nowhere did he say everyone should be equal in economic outcomes, which is what you're implying.

We are a mix of socialism and capitalism. We have winners and losers. Clearly you are a loser and bitter.
I'm close to being a millionaire myself so not exactly a loser nor bitter. Just don't understand why nobody pointed out Sanders doesn't practice what he preaches. I wonder if he himself would pay the 70% or whatever number he has in mind.

If you think you are the first person to make this kind of argument I’m sorry to tell you it’s as tired and beaten down as your mom.

According to this: http://time.com/money/4235986/bernie-sanders-millionaire-finances/ and other articles he & his wife can be considered millionaires. Also weird he puts everything on his wife's account.

You still haven't established this to be true.

Again, Sanders wants the top 1% - to which he belongs - to share their wealth with those less fortunate. What is holding him back to set an example and do that himself? What about selling 1 of his 3 houses? What about him voluntarily paying a 70% income tax rate (or whatever rate he has in mind). He preaches socialism, how does he practice it himself?

lol OP doesn't have a clue how taxes work. Old man with a million or two in retirement savings is NOT the 1% and would never pay 70% in taxes under any tax plan. Apparently moderately responsible saving for an old ass man in his 70s is "rich" for these retards.

sigh, you don't know how Income works, do you? Net worth is not what people are taxed on. Does he advocate for people to sell their homes? Does he not pay the Income Tax rate according to his Income?

You have yet to show any hypocrisy on his part.

So you think working class Americans have 2 millions in retirement savings + 3 houses? If that's the case, no need to feel sorry for them.

No, I think middle class Americans in their 70s have 2 million in retirement savings and a house or two if they've been even moderately responsible with their savings. Fortunately, Bernie never advocated for a 70% tax rate on middle class Americans. Retard.

So how did he end up with 2 million in retirement savings + 3 houses? Do you think he would be able to get that if he had paid 70% on his income?

People who understand this little are why we can't have nice things in this country

Basic taxes and finance should be required for graduating high school.
The average middle class American does not have 2M in their retirement plan.
