“Chicks on the Right,” a popular conservative website, could lose its Facebook community after posting a critical message about the White House press secretary that allegedly violated the social networking site’s standards.

The controversy involves a posting on their Facebook fan page that referred readers to a website posting titled, “You Know What? Liberal Hypocrisy is Starting to Cause Me Actual Physical Pain.”
The Chicks on the Right

“Jay Carney can kiss my assular area,” wrote Mockarena, who runs the website with Daisy, a medical writer and adjunct professor of communications.
Both women asked that their true identities not be revealed due to possible security concerns.
“I think people are starting to realize Facebook is not necessarily a safe place for conservatives,” Mockarena told Fox News.
She said she tried to log onto her Facebook page Tuesday morning and learned that access not both her personal account and “Chicks on the Right” account had been temporarily blocked.”
“We removed the following content you posted or were the admin of because it violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities,” read a screen-grab she posted.
Facebook did not immediately return email seeking comment.
Mockarena, who said their site has nearly 90,000 fans, said Facebook could eventually shut them down.

“Apparently we are on very thin ice and are about to be shut down if there’s something else that’s identified as a violation,” she said.
And that – in itself – is a problem because the ladies who run the website and Facebook page aren’t sure how the Carney statement violates the social networking site’s policies.
“There are pages on Facebook that are incredibly obscene,” she said. “There were ‘Kill Mitt Romney’ pages during the election that were allowed to stand.”
A quick check of Facebook revealed a number of vulgar pages directed at conservatives including:
“Ann Romney’s Amputated Breast”
“F*** Conservatives”
“F*** Mitt Romney”
“Tea Party Can Kiss My A**”
“Rush Limbaugh is an Abject A******”
So why haven’t those sites been taken down?
Mockarena said her posting was “certainly not the cleanest word, but it’s not an outwardly vulgar word.”
“It certainly doesn’t compare with some of the other pages that are out there,” she told Fox News.
Facebook instructed her to review all the remaining content on their site to make sure it was in compliance.
“Well heck, we’ve been up and running for three years now,” she said. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to review three years worth of material – especially when I don’t know how what we posted violates a content policy.”
At the heart of the matter – the ladies who run the website believe there’s another motive behind the threat.
“They are targeting conservatives,” Mockarena said.
She also believes liberals “who are hellbent on silence conservatives” are trolling conservative pages and reporting specific posts.
“All those reports get funneled into Facebook and with enough complaints the pages are then shut down,” she said.
As a result of the incident, the “Chicks” have launched a new social networking site on TeaPartyCommunity.com.
“The experience is very similar to Facebook,” she said. “We are hoping to drive traffic there because we know it’s a safe place.”
A popular conservative website has been threatened by Facebook to be shut down after posting a criticizing message about the whitehouse press secretary

“Jay Carney can kiss my assular area,”
Facebook said that the post violated their policy and they would have a point if they did the same for others.

There are much worse things on Facebook such as

“Ann Romney’s Amputated Breast”
“F*** Conservatives”
“F*** Mitt Romney”
“Tea Party Can Kiss My A**”
“Rush Limbaugh is an Abject A******”
Yet these pages weren't taken down though

The two women believe that

“They are targeting conservatives,” Mockarena said.
She also believes liberals “who are hellbent on silence conservatives” are trolling conservative pages and reporting specific posts.
“All those reports get funneled into Facebook and with enough complaints the pages are then shut down,” she said.
It looks like there is some bias and Facebook is not being fair for everyone.

Do you think that these two ladies have a point and Facebook is against Conservatives? Was Facebook right to warn them? Why weren't the other sites taken down that were much worse?

If they don't know what content is causing their page to be in violation of the Facebook terms of use...how can they blame it on the message about Jay Carney?

Sounds like they are trying to find a scapegoat without any evidence.....

I'm sure "Cunts on the Right" aren't being forthcoming with the real reason why they think their group was closed/locked out.

I've seen some of the worst groups on FB that are all still within FB's terms of service....and I have seen some extreme groups that are not and they get shut down normally.

So? Facebook is a private entity. If you're all for individual rights, then they, as a company, can shut down speech they don't want hosted on their website.

When you realize just how insane the right in America has become you need to begin to consider measures appropriate to the threat. In Germany, for example, after the deaths of 50,000,000 plus or minus people, membership in the Nazi party was made illegal.

Throughout history there have been eruptions of authoritarian fanaticism that result in the deaths of other millions. The culprit is always the feeling that one is morally right and certain about it. The antidote to this is perforce, made to look very similar. We build into our law, for example, powerful and even profoundly liberal assurances that often favor the criminal on trial, to prevent the miscarriage of justice against those we try as potentially dangerous, but we do try them anyway for our general safety. The less conservatives speak the less mass insanity will be transmitted in our culture, the less altered reality thinking we will see, and the less suicide within the legislative class as they burn America to the ground to save it. No sane society allows its mental patients to run around free. We have this thingi were we demand of the free some responsibility. Irrational madness isn't responsible, sorry.

Yes, Facebook is a private company and can do what they want.

And their users can complain -- and validly so -- if they are applying political standards unfairly.

1. It does seem hypocritical - at least give them a chance to review it and maybe take the other communities down too if they haven't already.

2. In the end it doesn't matter, as facebook can ban whatever pages they want.

Facebook can ban whatever they want its private but there is a double standard here, those pages were MUCH WORSE than this and they are alright to them, thats a problem

This is what liberal "tolerance" looks like....take a good look at the bigots among us masquerading as decent and "enlightened" human beings.

Ah so now instead of fake news stories we are going to get the contents of yet another trolls INBOX with false, misleading, even LYING Titles?... sorry mate, don't want to read your stupid hit pieces. Especially the one's that are forwarded to you. Pst, FB doesn't have the power to shut down their WEBSITE. FB can and does take down pages on THEIR servers.

Why does the OP feel he should be able to tell a private business how to run itself? Should the OP be sent a big box of tampons and hankies to sop up the blood and tears? Why doesn't the OP link to many of the black or Muslim hate FB pages/posts on hundreds of newspaper forums that use the FB app for comments? Such false dilemmas!!! Such little time!!!

Its not a conservative site, its a conservative facebook page they have a website where they can say what they want with impunity.

Im pretty sure facebook responds to complaints, I am sorry if Ann Romney’s Amputated Breast doesn't get the traffic to get the complaints.

you must have missed most of last year when they went public and their stock tanked
