Any notice how all these big websites are starting to let you log in "with facebook"?

Next thing you know, getting pulled over by the cops and they are gonna ask for your facebook profile...


Is there a limit to how far this thing can ever expand?:hmm:
 
i noticed it last night while playing my PS3. i beat a guy (on the PS3 move) and it took the picture and wanted to upload it to Facebook. i was like WTF thats insane.
 
I don't like losing access to features. I know there's nothing useful there, but some companies have a "Visit us on Facebook" link, and I don't have Facebook. I always wonder what I'm missing :^D

A lot of companies do giveaways, contest, etc...just depends. The other day i won a code for Blacklight :tango down just for following the developer on facebook.

It's great for business. Great for keeping up with large groups of friends and relatives. It's great for sharing info with large groups of friends and relatives.

Sure it has retarded aspects and members on it. Doesn't everything on the Internet? Think of the AT forums. Lots of GREAT uses. Many retarded ones too. I find it funny that some of the "Lifers" here, with 10s of thousands of posts here, are the loudest when it comes to saying FB is "stupid".
 
Maybe we can add some more room under the usernames for Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. icons. I enjoy seeing stuff like this

I don't know about spyware, but it sure in the hell farmed many of my email addresses. I checked on my profile(?) page and it had about seven emails listed, I only provided one when I joined years ago.

Not cool FB, not cool.

Nope. People love virtual socializing. Thats why MMO's have only gotten more popular over the years. And why Facebook took over myspace and cellphones have TM's and IM's went away but only to be replaced by bigger and better things.

Not to mention forums like this one.

Online social life will never die, just evolve into bigger and better.

False. Much like MySpace something will come out that will try to improve on what people dislike about Facebook while keeping what they like about it. Only thing it will need is time to build the userbase.

Disagree. Myspace was very rarely updated and was plagued with problems and such because you could inject damn near whatever code you wanted in it... so it was awful. Facebook has added clutter and apps, but it still much cleaner overall than myspace was. Now that it's being integrated into consoles, offering VERY popular casual games, and has native apps for all cell phones I don't think it's going anywhere.
 
I find it pretty convenient that I didn't have to create a separate account for Might & Magic and could instead log in with my facebook account

FB has permeated society WAY more than myspace/friendster ever did.

Then I cant do it any more. I was hating Facebook when it first came out. If everyone hates it now then I must be wrong, cuz the majority of people are freakin stupid. I cant be like them.
