Second guy didn't seem so enthused to vote otherwise.

Summary which you likely already know, Farmers talking about how they were back stabbed by Trump but most appear to be ready to vote for him again.
Fuck these welfare queens.

My ex father in law with socialist leanings used to say "Farmers used to be the backbone of the country, now they're the assholes.

Meanwhile they are proposing cutting 700K people off food assistance in a move that would save just a fraction of the $28B so far given to farmers.

Fun fact: The bailout of farmers has now cost more than double the money than the bailout of the auto makers ultimately cost during the 2008-2009 collapse.

The first major politician to start pointing out to people that farmers are getting enormous cash bailouts while they get exactly jack shit is going to find a lot of support in blue collar America. There has been some concern in congress about the size of the tariff related aid drawing unwanted attention to the many billions that sector regularly siphons off the government without much to show for it.

Pretty much, I’ll vote for the first guy who says it enough.
D Politician should write these guys off. They literally would rather be back stabbed than consider voting D.
Fuck them all. Fuck their stupid early primary states, fuck their stupid fairs, fuck their stupid opinions.

rural people need to learn self-reliance.

They need to learn consequences. They voted for the tariffs, the President was very concise about tariffs and we get:
“Are you going to vote for Trump again”
“Unless they (Republicans) come up with someone better yes”

There are literally a dozen different candidates. He just has to get over the D thing. Feeling pain is the only way to teach this lesson.

The catch, of course, is that we all have to eat, so a healthy Ag sector is extremely important. Part of the problem is that American farmers can produce far more than we consume domestically. It's been that way since before any of us were born. They can readily farm themselves out of a profit w/o foreign markets. They probably didn't realize that Trump would set them up for the old Chinese nut kick. They weren't the only people not thinking straight at the time, nor are they today. If "Fuck You, Libtards" paid the bills they'd all be wealthy.

further fun fact: the automakers paid back, with interest, pretty quickly.

Let's wait and see how long it will take the farmers to do that, right?

Quoting to highlight a wonderful facet of this administration. The automaker bailout was considered to be a really, really big deal. We've barely heard a peep about the agri bailout due to the whirlwind of domestic news.

I’m at the point of saying fuck these guys, let big companies buy their land and farm it. Fewer handouts and better managed.
I never thought I’d say that but times have changed.

Yeh, but Trump is gonna throw all those moochers off of food stamps, which is actually an indirect subsidy of Ag producers. Building the wall & bombing people on the other side of the world is clearly more important, as are tax cuts for the Rich.

This fact needs to be made into a Dem political ad against cheeto.
The fact that his failed trade tariff policy has resulted in these numbers
Dems need to pound these irrefutable facts over the TV airwaves.

Yes, the cut to the 700k people for foodstamps saves approx 5B over 5 years, so a billion per year.
Yeah, so lets give farmers and large agribusinesses, 14B a year, each, over the last 2 years and starve 700K of our community to save 1B a year.
gop math FTMF win.

They should have been able to figger it oot about Trump before they were warned (in detail) about him. The idiot has left a wake of fraud and lies behind him since the early 90s. That you only listen to talk radio is no defense.

Struggling to feel a lot of sympathy here. Life is hard. It's harder if you're dumb.

So after all the farmers go bankrupt we buy our food from China?

Farming is one of those things I see as being fundamentally necessary, as I enjoy eating and there is a growing body of evidence that's it's good for your health.

No, we buy food from whomever buys the farmers land. I know that will likely be big business but I don’t know what else to do. Farmers have been shooting themselves in the dick since the 80s. I am tired of their constant complaints, I am tired of their foolish voting choices. There needs to be some accountability.
As presented all three of these guys have other choices besides the person who at least one has said backstabbed them. 2 of the three appear ready to vote for the backstabber again. There is nothing else that can be done for them, these guys are hopeless.
Canada & Mexico produce plenty of food to prevent big problems.

We have a poster here who is a semi farmer. He continually spouts proven propaganda points and has on at least two occasions said what happens if farmers stop farming to starve the Northern States.
First that is a retarded claim, Northern States would just buy foods from other places
Second that is an incredibly cruel thing to fantasize about. Fucking the libs by starving them.

Again these farmers voted for this, news coverage was very clear farmers would be hit hard by a trade war. Now they complain but are ready to shoot themselves in the dick another time by voting exactly how they got here.
