Hmmmm, i'm downloading it now from FileFront.com. Free servers, no lines to wait in, and getting ~600KB/s download speed. 🙂 I should be done with the entire download in about the same time you waited in line. 😛 Which is why I hate FilePlanet... :|

Nice to know theres no lines and its available there, I was just commenting my experience on an "official" download site. I know Fileplanet goes faster than 330k thats just my max download speed with Charter in my area which was better than either the Sierra and Bit torrent links so figured I'd pass the info on. Also X-fire although listed on the official site didnt actually have the file anywhere for download.

Gotcha, just lettin you guys know it's on FileFront if ya want it fast. 😉 FilePlanet's download speeds aren't really the problem, it's just that waiting in line for the file usually takes many times longer than the download itself takes... which kind of defeats the purpose of having high speed internet in the first place. 😛 I noticed that too about the Xfire link when I checked it, so my guess was that you probably needed the Xfire program installed and then you download it through there. Didn't feel like installing it to find out though. So I checked out FileFront and it was right there in the big banner on the front page, and I was off n downloadin away a few seconds later. 😀

"F.E.A.R. Combat is the complete multiplayer component of F.E.A.R. and includes all the updates, additional official maps and additional official game modes all in one downloadable file. F.E.A.R. Combat users will be able to play against the owners of the retail version of F.E.A.R. as well as the other F.E.A.R. Combat users."

There are some config files in your shared docs directory. I can't remember specifically where. You can set any resolution there, just be careful not to go back into the video settings in the game, or it will reset them.

And this game is awesome. I don't know why more people don't play it. I think it's probably because of the machine requirements.

Will it run with an Nvidia 7600GS?

 
Seems that I have problem running the game. Anyone else getting 'FEAR has encountered a problem etc....' message when double clicking the icon?
 
playing it right now...all i can say is, stand around a corner and lean over to the side to shoot. Thats about it. Game is kind of boring but then again it is free.
 
Anybody else having trouble registering for a Key code. I have attempted the process twice now and everytime I complete step two of three it kicks me back to step one with no messages. Then when I try to fill in the same information again it tells me that the email address I have provided has already been sent a code. I checked both email accounts used and neither one has recieved anything. I even checked the junk mail folders.

Anybody else with a similar experience?

*EDIT*
Both Gmail emails came through today (original signup message and key lookup) but its been over 12 hours now with no sign of the hotmail message.

I got nothing either. Hotmail must not work. I'll try g-mail.

Yup just like the demo. Now I know why it's free because it sucks. Oh well don't want to complain 😉 I like to use my mind with games, back to bf2 😱
