i was turned off to the multi-player demo because it did not support 12x10 resolution that my lcd has. Does this free game support that resolution?

if i install my retail version, and play the multiplayer through that, will i be able to play with those who got the version for free?

i ask because it would probably be quicker for me to reinstall the game, but if i cannot play with the large amount of people it is useless.
